Today I had an appointment with T. Phone or text session. He contacted me and said his later appointment showed up two hours earlier. Can we change it to a later time today. I said okay.
And guess what?! He contacted me again my before my rescheduled appointment and said his other appointment showed up earlier- can we reschedule . I'm not sure why he's seeing patients in person with covid crisis.

Wtf?! My time isn't important!? I said no I'm not changing it. He said this client traveled from far... I said cancel my appointment

I really considered leaving and finding another therapist due to my other post about him. Now I'm definitely leaving.

I would feel angry and confused too. You are important, he clearly has trouble with his boundaries, Agreeing to see people at the wrong times/messing you around . Why are all these people showing up at the wrong time anyway?! I hope you are ok and find the therapist you deserve!

I would be very upset as well. I have only had a T double book once and it was handled much more appropriately. None of my T’s would ever ask me to switch times for another client.

So he has not one but two people show up early? Hhhm what a coincidence... And why is he seeing people now? Is he physically seeing them???? Something isn’t adding up with this therapist

Did they physically show up, or by show up did he mean they logged in for a session early? Clocks are a thing.
Either way, he could have told them to come back at their appointed time.

He should have told them to come back at the proper time.

His actions were anti-therapeutic for both you and them.

You have to expect the odd mix up during these difficult times, my boiler blew up last week, and they had to go away and come back 3 times with new parts.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Clearly the COVID situation has mental health workers with their undies in a bundle. But when it comes to a point at which they cannot properly do their job it is not acceptable. I've been hearing too many pdocs and therapists talking about their paychecks, but not so much about their patients. Makes me wonder how talented many of these people really are.

I'm truly sorry for you, that you were badly mistreated. Normally I wouldn't suggest that someone fire their therapist. In your case, however, you have every reason to.

Thank you for everyone for your responses.

I assume when he mentioned they showed up one to two hours earlier he meant in person. If it was video chat session he could have said I have another patient could we chat at scheduled time. If it was a crisis, emergency I would understand. Or if he told me without details - I have a patient in crisis who showed up for early etc

If he is seeing patients in person I do not agree with it - covid. Some people may not have access to video chat-phone call or text okay too.

I’m not happy. I find it rude. Time to look for another T

Even if they showed up early in person, and even if Covid were not a concern, he should have told them to come at their regular time. If it were literally an actual crisis there are emergency services to call.

Why on earth is he still seeing clients in person?! The recklessness of some people is unbelievable.

Regardless, your time ought to have been respected. So, he is utterly unprofessional as well.
