I’m trying to sort out why I hate talking to my T about the guys I date. I really don’t understand it—I tell my friends every little detail with no problem, but my T asks me if I’ve kissed some guy yet and I just cringe.
Maybe it’s because he fulfills something of a parental figure in my life and I made it a point never to talk about dating with my parents? |

I dunno, asking you if you've kissed a guy yet seems cringey to me. I don't think that's a weird reaction to have when a non-friend asks you something like that.

that's the way i feel after yesterday's really difficult session. i cannot focus today for the life of me. i have processed only 24 messages (i'm on break right now) and by this time on a normal day, I'd be at 48. I do +/- 53 most days by an hour from now. I would have liked the same kind of thing from L today, but of course she won't. she really seemed to be fed up with me yesterday. |

I could see this. I had paternal feelings toward ex-MC, and anytime sex came up in there, I sort of wanted to disappear into the couch. It's a little awkward with Dr. T, especially because he tends to use actual words for things, while I'm more likely to use euphemisms,* but it's still more comfortable with him because I don't tend to feel the paternal stuff with him. *This probably doesn't need a trigger warning, but just in case:

Honestly, I don't feel comfortable talking about that stuff with men unless I also happen to be sleeping with them. I've never experienced paternal transference. There was a male nurse I was really fond of during a 3 month long hospital stay, but it didn't feel paternal to me. I guess I'm saying that I don't think the discomfort is pathological.
ETA - Seems more societal. I mean, they split up girls and boys in health class when I was a kid to talk about sex-specific things. __________________ Life is hard. Then you die. Then they throw dirt in your face. -David Gerrold |

I hate it when my cat does that owl thing with his head. Freaks me out.

I want to go out when all this thing is over but i dont think i want to go back to the drumming lessons as i thought it might be a good social thing but everyone packs up and leaves as soon as its finished and i dont really feel comfortable there but i enjoy the drumming even if i have no rhythm. I only went 4 times begore we couldnt.

You sure know me about the impulsive tendencies! I'm naturally a hermit- as long as I get a daily walk I'm okay. Three things I do want to do/go to: Ikea . I want pancakes from the hipster cafe. I want to go to the burger bar I like. I'm going to go back to learning French + maths. P.s How is your exercise going? I really want to back to the gym but I'm afraid of cooties. __________________ |

If you enjoy the class maybe keep going, but have a look at other groups. We have the website Meetup. Maybe you guys might have something similar- they have all kinds of groups from just hiking to a war hammer gaming guild! __________________ |

Blargh, woke up at 4:30 again for no particular reason (other than the fact that I’m switching from the night shift to a regular day schedule). The good news is that I’m supposed to hang out with this guy J whom I am really starting to like. We’re supposed to go hiking but the weather is looking cruddy so we might stay in and play board games instead.

Also, I emailed my T asking if we could take off the third week of July since I'll be camping all that week and he emailed back saying it was complicated and that he'd leave me a voicemail with his thoughts. Why can't he just say yes? Oof.

That's nuts, Chihiro. I'm sorry he isn't being more helpful.

Don't ask - just tell the guy when you are next available.

There is a big new swimming update to Animal Crossing that was released today! That might keep you occupied until date time. Also I really want to hear what the complication to your scheduling request is! Like, WTF?

ooh pancakes sound really good and i am intrigued by the 'hipster cafe', trying to picture what that is like! I have never been to Ikea although we do have one here, up north a bit in the county where the stupid virus is spreading like crazy. i will not be going up there anytime soon, needless to say. |
