NP, if you're still up, maybe it would be best to go to bed now. If you can't sleep, maybe watch something funny on TV to distract yourself.

I don't know what to talk about during my session this afternoon. Talking about J is just a hot mess so I should figure something else out but nothing's coming to mind.

I will never be fit to work in an office again. Lately I have been making up songs to the tune of the Hallelujah Chorus to suit whatever my mood is at the moment, and singing them loudly.

This morning's rendition went something like this: "I hate people. I hate people. I hate people! Cuz they are stupid, they are stuuuuuuupid. They're stupid, so stupid, extremely stuuuuuupid!!"

Try it, it's fun.
Thanks for this!

Eric Clapton's 1977 hit altered to "Lay Down Eloise". My kitty loved it. I wasnt even a big Clapton fan. i think the first 3 notes are the same as Beethoven's Fifth, just a different beat. Well, maybe Eric slides an extra one in there. But to me they are kinda similar.

My dog likes when I sing while doing a jig. The grey cat is unfazed.

All my pets have songs and i make the cats dance about just to see how annoyed they get. The song is generally just their name repeated with nonsense words but they seem to not mind it.

And none of you expressed admiration of my “Quarantine Cat” song way back when.

My first fan.

You might have been between accounts. But for you, Daff, a command performance:

Quarantine, quarantine, quarantine cat
Quarantine this and quarantine that
They say, they say it came from a bat
I say you’re my quarantine cat

I love how my guinea pigs freak out and hide when my H sneezes a couple floors away, yet right now there are violent thunderstorms going on, and they're just calmly sitting there eating hay...

A-HA! Behold, my friends, the perfidy up with which I put from ex-hankster!

For, lo, this is what she said about "Quarantine Cat" when it was first composed:

There is nothing wrong with what i said, and if you grew up watching American Bandstand like I did, you would APPRECIATE the fine nuance between the two statements, and REALLY appreciate the skill, talent, years and discernment it takes to develop such a fine ear and beaty booty as mine. Ryan Seacrest is shaking in his draws as we speak. Di-ck Clark is smiling down at me from Billboard heaven. It was a close contest, but Daf's was a bit beat boop better. Congratulations to both of you!

Eta - boy that was close! Whew!

Ok, my songs are dog-centric, because I'm a dog person and I'm allergic to cats so unlikely to compose a song to a cat.

The bath song, to the tune of "The Wheels on the Bus":
This is the way we bathe our dog, bathe our dog, bathe our dog
This is the way we bathe our dog, so early in the morning.

The other song I sang to my dogs was just a song I learned in childhood that seemed to fit, but which I've recently learned may have racist undertones, so I'm not sure what to think. Or maybe it's just the tune that's supposedly bad. I hate to write off something that was completely innocent to me as a child, but I will if need be.
"Do your ears hang low, do they wobble too and fro, can you tie 'em in a knot, can you tie 'em in a bow, can you throw them o'er your shoulder like a continental soldier, do your ears hang low?"
Which made perfect sense for my dogs that had big floppy ears.

I learned that song too, and never knew it had racist connotations! Thanks for the alert. I like to sing " I never want to be without your sweet face" to one of my dogs and the little kids song Boom Boom it's so great to be crazy . . . to the puppy.

If I recall the article I read about it, it's also the melody toTurkey in the Straw and that song has a troubling history.
