Probably going to write former T an email. It's been a few months since I've written her. I did text her something short the other day but I feel like writing her a nice long note.

If you dont find your voice in this safe environment - at least learn to confront a safe person as safely as possible - then when? Like when i cancelled the nytimes in my t - hes like, you dont even talk to me about it? I didnt get it at the time. I thought i was in it ALONE. Its true, i didnt OWE him an explanation, but that isnt the point - he was a safe person to GIVE an explanation to, and i acted like he wasnt. Youre acting like she isnt? This KINDA answers SDs question of what are they for. |

I hadn't had my red lentil chili in awhile, found a container of it in the freezer and just heated some up for lunch. Yum! This version has corn and black beans in it too.

I'm doing another online course from Jeff Brown, this one about healing the abandonment wound, kind of as an adjunct to therapy and will be talking through some of the stuff with L tomorrow. I am pretty sure it's bringing up some of this "I don't want to need you" stuff.

Actually, it's not a bad idea. I wonder if I can find a lion costume in tiny baby size. If I can convince him it's about expressing his inner big cat and not dress-up he gets to keep his dignity and stay warm. __________________ Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by accidents of time, or place, or circumstance, are brought into closer connection with you. Currently coping with stress by listening to Stevie Nicks (solo stuff)--thanks, iTunes, for the $6.99 alternative and rock albums, as I'd damaged both my Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks CDs ages ago (and one of the $6.99 offerings was a double-album Fleetwood Mac best-of).
Oh, that reminds me that Dr. T referenced a Pink Floyd song yesterday. I think it was the second of two times he's ever independently cited a song. I do recall him saying at one point that his college roommate played Pink Floyd constantly, so doesn't mean he's a fan or anything. |

Well, if you do that, you'll need to provide pics! If I can get better ones with my guinea pigs in their Halloween hats (or maybe even full costumes), I can post those, too! One is a tiny sombrero. |

I'm friends with one of my grad school professors on Facebook, and she has one of the hairless cats. She's posted pics of him in all forms of sweaters and turtlenecks. |

If dogs get to wear costumes and sweaters, why not cats and guinea pigs?! At my Target, they showed a picture of a cat in a rainbow costume. My Mom and I laughed because I can't imagine Amelia letting me close enough to put her in a costume and Esther would just look at me disdainfully. The dog might actually wear it though, as she wears shirts and sweaters and even tiny little coats.

My dog once pulled a cast iron skillet with chicken in it off the back of the stove. I thought that it would be too far for her to reach and also too heavy to pull off. I was wrong on both counts. I wish I had surveillance video to see what contortions she went through to reach it. I'm surprised she didn't injure herself in the process.

And on another note - I am anti dressing up animals simply to satisfy human need to mess with pets. If the animal needs something for cold weather -then I understand. But I really don't get torturing a pet with a costume just to take pictures of it __________________ Please NO @ Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to live as one wishes to live. In the winter if we don't put a shirt and sweater on her she gets cold. She will lay under the blankets on the couch but she will still shiver, so we put clothes on her. She has coats for when she has to go get groomed during the winter but not if she is just going outside for necessary business. On a fun note, we buy baby onesies and cut the bottom off and sew a hem and use those for shirts for Emma. It is way cheaper than buying dog shirts and it is just as cute. Rather practical. I buy her some quality dog sweaters though, usually for Christmas (yes my pets get Christmas presents) because she gets so cold. I do think the prices of the sweaters are ridiculous. $25 for a sweater for a 10 pound dog. I can get cheaper sweaters for me! But it's worth it if she isn't cold. Then she has a couple of blankets that are her's and when she is sleeping on the couch, especially in the winter we will wrap them around her. But we often have a lightweight blanket on her in the summer too because she lays directly in the path of the AC and she starts shivering. __________________ Dum Spiro Spero IC XC NIKA |

My niece has greyhounds . . . in Minnesota. They have pajamas. They have snoods. They have coats. They have shoes. Negative 25 degree weather is not a greyhound's natural climate.

It's sort of a sweater that goes around their necks and pulls up over their ears.
