Awwww. We got pretty lucky with our older cats when we brought Penny home. Stormy didn't like her one bit at first and there was lots of hissing and fighting, but he never peed where he shouldn't. We gradually got them used to each other and now they're buds. Most of the time.... |

Class starts in about 25 minutes, we're supposed to be writing our research question tonight and turning that in with our hypothesis. Still working on mine...

Big news today. The school nurse called this morning to check on my daughter since she is chronically absent, and I told her that D's been accepted to the virtual school. This afternoon the principal called, seems he pled her case with the district office again, and the big jerks were able to accommodate my request to switch her to online only. After they found out I would be withdrawing her! I'm not pleased that it's come down to this, but she does want to stay in the classes she's familiar with, teachers she's familiar with, and can continue to see the school based counselor. I feel some type of way about it.
I have a Zoom call tomorrow for a 504 meeting, I'm trying to decide what accommodations I should request. Wish us luck couchies. |

I am going camping the next two weekends - I hope there are no skunks

I get things like that periodically. I got them more often when I lived in more evangelical states. I think it’s some sort of missionary task. No idea how they get the names, though. I just treated it as junk mail and shredded it.

So two of the reasons Info was annoying today were:
1) she told me I lacked agency 2) she told me I should focus on my daughter 1) is sometimes true but I don’t think is true all that often, and 2) I don’t have one. |

I've almost always had tortoiseshells! But Penny's a calico. My experience with calicos are that they are flighty and unpredictable. My torties have always been very sensible cats; not always the most cuddly, but affectionate in their restrained way.

Wow. That's a pretty important bit of information to get wrong. I think I would be feeling more than annoyed. Did you call her on it?

I called her on the daughter but not the other. She said “oh, okay” and then resumed talking. |

Well I recently had 2 extensive conversations with mine about my change in insurance. She informed me both times that she would not be collecting a co-pay (which the insurance lists)--her policy is to not collect any co-pays. A few weeks go by and she brings up out of the blue that she wants me to know that she wouldn't be collecting a co-pay, She had zero memory that we'd talked about it. Twice.

Flighty and unpredictable are two very good words to describe my Penny! She is not cuddly at all, and would never even let us pick her up at all until we started giving her those Temptations cat treats. She actually eats them right out of my hand now - I never thought that would happen. And I can pick her up. Occasionally. Sometimes if she's in the mood she lets us pet her, but other times if we try she bolts away like she's on uppers or something. She is FAST too. |

Class ended a little early. This was my worst discussion post so far. I expect 0 points it is so bad. We had to read an extremely complicated, math-heavy study and answer like 5 questions about it and it took her almost 20 minutes of our hour lab time to even get the link to the stupid article posted for us!! I understood zilch about it. Thankfully they are worth only 10 pts.

But seriously and also non-confrontationally, why does anyone on here stay with their therapist? Very few therapeutic relationships as described on here seem all that good or beneficial to me from an outside perspective, but it works for the people involved. My solution is low expectations. |
