Mask crying sucks. Had a massive panic attack a couple months ago when I was out and having my face covered in tears and snot that I couldn't wipe away just added insult to injury.

I'm working (and have been working) on knitting a beaded scarf. It's hard because of putting the beads on the yarn and so it takes a long time to get very far but I am more than halfway done. It is black variegated yarn with black shimmery iridescent beads. I don't know if I will give it away as a Christmas present or keep it for myself. It has taken me so long to do it but then I think it's too pretty to keep for myself.

L was very proud of her new mask the other day haha. It's got like a bridge kinda thing inside it that holds it away from her face. I think I'd probably hate the plastic thing touching my face more than the mask, honestly. They don't really bother me, other than the crying thing.

I'll take one of the built-in tissue masks as well. I tend to cry a fair amount during therapy, so that's one of my concerns if I'd have to go back wearing a mask. Dr. T has said he got a list of guidelines from the APA for having clients back in the office (including having them sign waivers and stuff), and he said it just seemed like too much, and that he doesn't see it being really safe unless there was like a wall of plexglas between him and the client, and that doesn't seem conducive to therapy at all.

Masks don't really bother me. I wear them for work and to therapy and stores and stuff. I don't cry in therapy so I haven't had to worry about the tissue thing. But I did sneeze in my mask and I thought that was gross.
I posted this elsewhere on PC but I thought it was cute. Q: Why don't mummies take time off? A: They don't know how to unwind! __________________ Dum Spiro Spero IC XC NIKA |

I'm guess I'm lucky with L. We only wear masks when we greet eachother, when we hug, or when we hold hands.

Me too. I told my t at one point I don't mind that teletherapy kind of invites her into my space, it's more that *I* have to do therapy in my space. I used to sort of envision leaving all my sh** there in the therapy room. Now it feels like being in the same space mashes together my outside life and my therapy processing. Plus...this is such a tiny (and hilarious) thing, but I sat on that couch in her office for so many hours. It faces south. My home desk also faces south, and my t sits on the south-facing couch during our telehealth sessions. My brain knows we can't both be facing the same direction AND be face-to-face, and can't wrap itself around that indeed we are. Brains are weird. I didn't realize I am so sensitive to place. __________________ Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by accidents of time, or place, or circumstance, are brought into closer connection with you. Just sent my T an email confessing that I’d done something I promised him I wouldn’t do. I hope to God he emails me back instead of making me stew in my own guilt and anxiety until Tuesday... but I bet he’ll make me wait.

I'm super-duper impressed!!! Because both beads and black yarn; I have trouble with both. I crocheted a shawl for my sis-in-law and she wanted a beaded decorative fringe on it, but I was not able to do the beaded part - so I ended up just threading beads on normal fringe and tying underneath them. Nowhere near as pretty as following the pattern would have been... but she'd never had gotten it if I'd continued struggling with the beads! The shawl itself turned out beautifully if you don't look at the fringe. |

I crocheted this one for my mom awhile back, no fringe this was a super easy pattern and uses only one ball of variegated yarn. I need to make a couple more, one for sis in law and one for my sister. eta I like this pattern particularly because you start at the bottom point and work up in one piece, instead of in 2 pieces like many others I've seen.

I would have much preferred a plexiglass shield between the woman and where I sat. Well, I would have much preferred a brick wall or iron gate -but plexiglass would have worked
