Everybody seems to think they had covid back in Feb and March (me too) but truth is most of us didn’t. Power of suggestion + wishcasting.

Before this pandemic thing started, lots of people were making fun of me for having certain things at home: canned food, water, a months worth of toilet paper, first-aid stuff, masks... but then when the first lockdown hit, suddenly everyone felt it might have been a good idea to prepare earlier.
I personally still have supplies for emergencies at home, then some medicine and kits to perform all the necessary small doctor's stuff at home (plus books that would probably tell me how to remove an appendix and such things, but I doubt I'd get myself to do that). I also keep some medication on hand that would knock me out enough to not have to experience some kind of apocalypse, even though I hope that'll never get used.

My son and his gf suspected they did because they had been in Vegas a week or so before they got sick, and then heard that employees at the casino they stayed at had tested positive during that time frame. But they never got tested back then so they don't know for sure.

I agree! Another option could be going on a lower dose? Or maybe a different med?

Lunch break finally. Work is going by slow today because I'm in live chat again. Oh, well. It's all good. We are finally getting our broken bedroom window replaced today, the guys is here doing it now. It's been broken (cracked) since we moved in like 5 years ago or whenever and the cracks had gotten a lot bigger and now there were holes in the window where the cracks met, so it was cold in there at night!

There is one person in my family who I believe did have it last spring before the world shut down. He was hospitalized with fevers, shaking, coughing and they ran batteries of tests but couldn't figure out what was going on. He was there for over a week while they tried to get his fever stopped. Finally it did and he went home and no one knew what he had.

Other than that, I don't know of anyone I think had it before it was a thing

ETA - I am actually very happy it was before covid was a thing so there were no ventilators to kill him and he wasn't in isolation.

Well CVS has my medicine. A fairly nice pharmacy technician answered the phone and I was relieved it wasn't the pharmacist. But then....the pharmacist got on the line to tell me she only got 3 of the 5 bottles that she ordered but that she could have it ready by 3 PM. But she wants me to know this could happen next time. I'm like....girl, you better hope not! Because I'm about to take my business elsewhere!! But I was good and I didn't say that. I just said "Okay." And "See you at 3." It will actually be later but no reason to give them longer to get it ready. She checked my insurance and everything went through so that's good. Hopefully I won't have this problem next month.

Kit, in my long experience with commercial pharmacies, I can guarantee you that this pharmacist does not give one flying heck about making sure your meds are there for you. Whoever suggested you try an old-fashioned mom and pop place had a good idea--they'll get to know you and care about you and will actually work to get you the meds you need.

Just my unsolicited two cents.

Thanks chihirochild. I'll give them another chance since this is the first time it's happened. One other time they forgot to order it but that was about 4 years ago. If this happens again, I'm going to shop around. That said, I might stop at the place my parents go to which is a Mom and Pop and see if they handle my insurance and give them a list of medications that I take and see what they say. My Dad says he has to fuss about my Mom's medications though so I don't know if it is any better. I don't think he has to fuss so much with the pharmacist, I think it is more between the doctor and the insurance. But I will find out more from my Dad and then see about talking to them.

My husband and I had our first COVID vaccine last Thursday. Our arms were much more sore than we've every experienced with an injection and we were both rather achy for a few days. Oh, and I had horrible chills about 24 hours after - just for a few hours - hubby didn't. But we're good now. I'm sort of dreading the 2nd dose because apparently that's when most people have more side effects - oh, joy! It was okay though. I had read enough to know that was the possibility and it was manageable. But he and I are both in higher risk groups medically, and I spend my whole day being breathed on by 17-year-olds, so we needed to get started.

I'm sorry you had some side effects ArtleyWilkins but it's good that you were able to get the Covid vaccine first dose. I will probably not be able to get it until Summer. I just hope I can be spared getting Covid that long. Two of my coworkers have been out the whole month (they have to have a negative Covid test before they can come back) and they were also out the last week of December. I don't want to be out of work that long. My goodness. But both had it go to their lungs. The whole thing is scary.

Wow, I have spent a whole day at work and I did some work stuff but mostly not. I did stuff like make my budget for the year and pay bills and call on my medicine. I really don't deserve a good review! On the other hand, I did the stuff that needed to be done. Is it my fault there is down time? IDK. Oh and I didn't drop a single phone call. Yeah me!

I have days like that too. But, other times I have more work and zero down time. I think you deserve your good review! It's not like you neglected the work in order to play solitaire. Good for you taking care of your work and your personal business.

Thanks StressedMess! I am like that too. It's feast or famine. I either have too much stuff to do and not enough time or too much time and not enough to do. I wish I knew a little more of what one of my coworkers does with the files after I give them to her because she's been out with Covid since the last week in December and they are really piling up. She is going to have a lot of work to come back to. I wish I knew what she did with them so on days like today I could jump in there and help her out. But I just don't know. But when she does come back, she can show me and we can do them together and be done in half the time. Or if she wants, I can continue answering the phones until she gets caught up. I've been checking her emails for anything important and responding to the stuff that needs to be responded to, so even though she has almost 400 new emails in her box, most of them are just junk that she can trash. The other guy that is out is still able to work from home so even though he has Covid he can still make phone calls and make sales. But the other girl, I just feel bad because her desk is getting piled. I'm trying to keep it neat for her but there's little piles of this and big piles of that and everything in between. It doesn't help she is the project manager so she manages the paperwork at the beginning, middle, and end of a project. So there's loads of paperwork for her to process. I could probably do the little ones by looking at some of her past ones but then again she sometimes gets mad if I step on her toes. I know when I was out being hospitalized for mental health not covid, someone did my job and they didn't do all the parts to it and it was more of a mess to fix than if I would have just come back to the whole job to do. So I am keeping that in mind!

Today's date is a palindrome. 1.20.2021 is the same forward and backwards.

ha ha I'm such a nerd that I think this is cool.

My in person class attendance has gone from 6 to 5 to 1 to 0 in 4 days. Today it was me lecturing to an empty lecture hall.

Thinking cardboard cutouts to fill the seats.
