hey couchies. i'd been doing so well for the last couple of months but everything just feels bad last night and today. I feel so sad and heavy-hearted and I want to cry but for the first time in recorded history I am unable to cry because I am afraid that if I let myself, I will never stop. The pandemic just goes on and on and on and gets worse and worse and worse and my long-time friends are at war with each other over stupid political stuff and all the overtime at work and I'm being forced to take web calls today which is awful because people hate our website and they are so very mean about it and I just feel like I'm completely falling apart and I can't hold any of it anymore. I don't know why it's all come to a head this morning. I just want to call in sick and run away. But I can't go anywhere because of covid. I know that a ton of people are feeling this way and it's not just me and I'm just being a big damn baby but that's the way it is. I feel awful in my head today. i cant' even talk it out loud but it does help a little to write it out. i'll try to get more positive. thanks for listening.

HUGS Artie. It's just hard right now. So many things have been going on for so long. Politics. Covid. Not being able to see T's in person. Etc. You aren't being a baby. You're being a human. I'm sorry you feel so bad. You are heard.

I guess my insurance is not going to cover the Latuda. So my doctor sent 13 weeks worth of Latuda samples. 1 week 20 mg. 12 weeks 40 mg. I'm not sure what his plan is. Just supply me with samples for however long I have to be on this? I started the 20 mg last night. So far I don't feel any side effects. Hopefully I won't have any.

Hugs, Artie. This is a really difficult time for multiple reasons, and it makes sense that you're struggling. I'm sorry that you are, but please know that you're far from alone in this. You're not being a baby--or if you are, so am I! At the end of my T session yesterday, I just started sobbing and was like, "I don't know how I'm going to make it through all this." Because it's been going on so long.
I read an article a couple months ago that explained how humans are built to deal with shorter periods of stress. Like maybe something going on for a week or a month or even a few months. But not something like this, particularly something that affects so many areas of our lives. So it makes sense that so many people are struggling. That maybe for the first few months it's like "Great, I can read those books I've been meaning to read," but then as time stretches on, it becomes more unbearable. Write/talk as much about it as you need to. |

I hope the Latuda helps without side effects. If you do find it helps you, you may be able to appeal the insurance decision, especially if you've tried lots of other meds that have *not* helped. I forget which med it was, something newer that's not generic (possibly Latuda or maybe Rexulti, something like that). My pdoc brought it up to me, but said that insurance often won't cover it unless you can show you've tried other meds first, but they didn't help (or had unbearable side effects). So that could possibly be an option for you, especially if pdoc is willing to vouch for you to the insurance company. |

Babies cry because they are distressed or in pain. They don't have the added layer of having to act like everything is okay or pretend that they're coping. I honestly don't think you're being a baby. I've already taken two days of school because I just couldn't do it and I've also laid in bed and cried today. You're not alone. Do you have the option to cut back on the overtime even if it's for a few hours? R used to work for this charity. They're still offering email support (which would work across the pond too). Thanks Kit. feeling heard helps so much. I need to work on consciously remembering that - i'm being human. Quote:
Thanks LT. it so helps to hear that i'm not alone in these feelings. i mean i know it on one level of course but it's helpful to hear it from people too you know? anyway i think it's seeing the longtime friendships breaking up that bothers me more than anything else. it makes no sense in my heart that people who are supposedly like sisters would just turn on one another like they are. some of them are pressuring me to take sides and I don't want to take sides. |

Thanks Lemon. When I was on a call earlier I almost started crying... my voice was cracking a little - the guy instantly started being nicer. I think maybe I hit on something - let my voice crack a little on every call haha. i didn't cry, like i said before, i seem to not be able to let myself. Which come to think of it is probably wigging me out some too, because I have ALWAYS been able to cry and it's never been a matter of "letting myself" it just happens. I think that L is going to see some tears on friday though, thankful i decided to go back after her vacation instead of waiting until February like I was originally gonna do. Only way out of OT is a doctor's note, I don't know if L counts as a "dr" since she's not technically one, but I might just have to try it. Although I'm hoping I'll feel better after a good night's sleep. I have dr appt on Friday for my shoulder - to get the orders to get it xrayed or whatever - HEY WAIT that might just work!!! i can tell the dr that typing 10 hours a day hurts it! (it doesn't, but they don't know that). I don't like to lie to my dr but if it gets me out of OT I might think about it strongly. thanks for the link i'll check it out! |

I need to take a day off of work soon. I keep not wanting to come into work and not wanting to get up which is a sure sign that I'm experiencing some burnout or emotional overload. It's hard right now because there's a girl out due to Covid and I am her backup when she is not here. She's been out all month and it looks like she might be out two more weeks. She has pneumonia on top of the Covid. So that means I can't take a break for two more weeks. Well, like two and a half weeks. Probably not until February. Ack! IDK if I can just keep pushing myself.

I'm tired. I want to go home and sleep but I should either go home and shower or go home and clean my room. Neither of which I want to do.

I don’t like the pandemic or the politics but I am finding world events a lot more interesting lately. Probably what the Chinese curse “may you live in interesting times” means.
I got a personal rejection letter: “well-drawn characters...excellent writing...[but]
