After haven finally gotten the nerve to end things with my current one. My first appointment is March 1st. I didn’t realize it was so easy to get an appointment with any therapist. I thought they’d all be booked for months. But she seems like a good fit for me. She’s part of the LGBTQ community and also works with people with autism. My current t said she’d absolutely be willing to work with me until I see the new one. Which means I have 2 more sessions with her.
So yeah that was good. I’ll start with video sessions and by the time I move hopefully they will have reopened and I can start meeting with her in person. This a time video sessions actually work out.

She sounds like a really good fit! I hope it works out with her. It's a good idea to try to find one before you actually move, so that you aren't dealing with that search on top of moving.
As for availability, I was able to see my current T for the first time less than a week after I contacted him. It all depends on their scheduling. And in the past, I lucked out getting a cancellation spot for a first session with one T. |
