I was thinking about "more" as being along the lines of, did more CSA happen. To that, i was surprised to learn - i think it was was from the superbook of processing csa, its very famous, its kinda old now, i think i read it ten years ago and it mighta been oldish then - anyway, to learn that for example a parent sharing too much of their premarital (not with the other parent) dating "adventures" with their young children - like in the form of stories - could be considered csa. So its not that "more" happened, it was "only" talking; but it was REALLY inappropriate, and yes thats CSA.
Somebody know what book im talking about? Its like a recovery bible. Two authors, maybe judith and susan? Slumber, you might find it helpful. I was all, oh i dont need that, but turned out i did. |

Twenty years ago, they assumed you had to have been sexually abused if you had BPD. I was always told that I was lying about/hiding the abuse or faking my symptoms. Now they include trauma of all types.

Regardless I don't think any professionals should 'suggest' CSA even if all the signs say it unless the patient bring it up himself/herself. Of course this is not the case if the patient is a minor, and it is something that is happening in present time that need to be dealt with ASAP, if it's something in the past, whether or not there's has been a history of CSA however small or big it impacted, suggesting it can be misleading. Especially for an adult, it should be up the client/patient to decide what to bring up and what not, and you have every right to refuse talking about something if you don't feel comfortable to.
In my case I know my T suspected I experienced CSA long before I told her, but it was only when I told her myself that she told me she already knew. She left it up to me to open this door which I appreciated. |
