At my last session with my old T she said she’d call my new T to discuss my case with her. I signed a release and she said she got it. Said she’d specifically call Thursday morning when she had a large chunk of time. Today I met with the new T and I seemed confused at first because I expected her to talk about stuff she had heard. But then I finally said 20 minutes later “this is kinda a weird question but did my old therapist ever contact you?” And she also seemed confused and said “no was she supposed to? That would be very helpful.”
So new T is going to send me a release which I still haven’t gotten so that SHE can be the one to talk to her. But I honestly feel like old T never really cared at all. She’s still being confusing to me. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

I'm sorry you feel rejected. I think technically, only one release has to be signed (though maybe it varies by state?) for one T to talk to another--hm, I think your T's are in different states, so that could make it more complicated. It's possible your old T intended to call her Thursday, but got busy. I know for me, times when T's (who weren't in the same office0 were supposed to talk, it tended to take longer than I'd expected, often an extra week or even longer. It's a matter of them both having the time to talk. I hope they can speak soon.

When I had a case manager she wanted to talk to my T and I had to have releases from both sides the case manager and the therapist so that they could talk. It took a while and my T wasn't keen on doing it but eventually they talked and my T told me what they talked about, though not in detail. It did take a while though. I'm sorry your old T didn't follow through when she said she would. Maybe something came up? Still, she should have kept her word or reached out to new T to set a new time to talk.

I'm really sorry to hear that ex-T didn't follow through. I'm sure glad she's your EX therapist. Your new one already sounds like she's on the ball.

I got a termination letter today from my old t. It was a basic form letter so it wasn’t personalized or anything. She had said I’d be getting it and that it would be pretty dry. But it had my new therapists name and number and address. So she does know it. I never got an email from my current T with a disclosure but Maybe something will happen by the time I see her on the 18th. No way am I emailing her to ask. I’m not making the email mistake again.
