I couldn't picture him until your picture! It's also very normal to find your T attractive. The smiling thing makes sense too.

I found it due to feeling transference for ex-marriage counselor. I didn't find him attractive at first, but it grew out of the transference. (And if I look at a photo of him now, which I haven't done in a while, I also don't think of him as attractive.)

Meanwhile, my current T, Dr. T, I found to be attractive immediately. To the point that my first thought when I met him was "Uh-oh, he's attractive in person, too. Am I making a terrible mistake?" (I did tell Dr. T this at one point, and he was amused. And said he hopes "Am I making a terrible mistake?" isn't most people's first thought upon meeting him.)

So I think it's common to be attracted to a T, whether it's due to transference or someone you would just find attractive if, say, you say them on the street. Or from getting to know them, like someone becoming more attractive to you over time (or less attractive, for that matter).

The smiling makes me think of ex-MC, who always seemed very happy to see us, lots of smiling. Dr. T, who used to work with him, so knows him fairly well, said he almost seemed *too* happy to see people. Suggesting it was a bit fake and/or over the top.

Hugs, Lemon. That sounds like a good plan. I hope you're able to see a psychiatrist soon. Is there anyone you can see through your school? My university had mental health services, and I saw a T there on a few occasions (was free to us). Not sure if that's a thing in the UK.

Haha, my H has a beard that he was growing out during the pandemic. It was getting a bit, er, unkempt looking, and he recently trimmed it back some, to my relief. I had tried not to saying anything about it, despite thinking he was starting to look like a stereotypical homeless person, because it's not like I'm exactly keeping up with my hair too well.

I also made the comment, after he trimmed it, that I imagine a longer beard makes it harder to get good protection from a face mask.

Dr. T also has a beard, and he tried to grow it out some during the pandemic. I'd mentioned H growing his out, too, and Dr. T asked me, "What's the secret to getting it to grow down, rather than out? Mine's more like a chin Afro." Which amused me. Of course I didn't know the answer, though mentioned H using beard oil or balm (I imagine maybe it's because Dr. T has wavy hair, while H's is straight? Or does that not affect facial hair?) So he ended up trimming it back such that it's a pretty close trim.

ETA: Ex-MC was clean-shaven--I think a beard would have looked silly on him, but who knows?

Our school started a counselling service for us which was new last year as we're not at the main school and it was around an hour to travel to the other building, They only have counselors though. I saw a someone last year, but didn't find my session helpful and I literally left after 10 mins after her connection was really bad and I had to repeat my answers. She was also late as well.

The hospital doc did get back to me (I emailed at 1 something am, but I realize that I wasn't very articulate and just now asked if he knew anyone who could see me sooner .

The private psych got back to me, earliest appointment is 4-8 weeks away.

Ugh, I'm sorry. Can you get on a cancellation list maybe? Where they call if there's a cancellation?

Unfortunately, that's about average (if not a bit quicker than average) for a first appointment. Make the appointment and then see if they can put you on a waiting list in case of cancellations.

I thought it would be sooner as it would be private and not publicly funded, but I guess they're swamped at the moment. I did once pay a crazy amount to see a psychiatrist online, but then had to get the medications he recommend prescribed by showing the report the first one had written to a second psychiatrist (the one I emailed now as he wasn't in my area).

I'll email him back after I get an mail from the other hospital psychiatrist.

Long term T lost my check. She was mortified because next day the building cleaner found it. She was concerned about my confidentiality.

My T has never been great about cashing my checks. Since COVID she is horrible. She told me. oy yo worry about sending her weekly checks. Just send them whenever ( month or whatever). I know pay with my health spending account. I have been sending one every 2 or so months because she is horrible about cashing them. The last time it took over a month. She only checks her PO Box 1 every week or week and a half. Then she has to actually open it then get it deposited. I have asked if she has received it and she always says yes but it is on her desk unopened.

She is such a great therapist just a not so great business person. We agree that as long as I send it, I have done my part and the rest is up to her.

My couch is now upside down (like my life. Woke up at 2am 6o my son screaming that the toilet was leaking. We have an upflush system and one of thre connections broke. What a mess!!!

Can this tired women with a very sore shoulder jump on the couch here??

On a positive note, we started our spring cleaning because of the mess.

So I have been researching autonomous complexes a la Jung lately, since L's comment a couple weeks ago about autonomous complexes and personality or whatever. I did mention it to her on Friday about how much I didn't like what she'd said, but that I'd moved into a place of curiosity about it, curious about why I didn't like it and just curious in general, and she explained a little where she was coming from which was helpful. And the stuff I'm reading is just fascinating, I'm all dang it now I want to talk more with her about it but I have to wait 2 weeks. Well I know I could call her and ask to come sooner but I don't need to, I figure I'll just keep reading and see how much I can learn/understand in the next 2 weeks so I can go in and have a semi-intelligent conversation about it then. Maybe one of the organizations I have been doing zoom workshops with have something coming up about complexes, that would be great. I'll have to look!

So the day is finally here... tomorrow morning I go in for my gastric bypass surgery. I should be excited, but I'm just overwhelmed by the number of things I have to get done today!
