I think therapy is making me more anxious than I normally have. I have dropped from twice a week to once a month because of it. I never had this anxiety before. Maybe I haven found the right T yet but this has been going on for over a year. Some are just too damn cheery. I sitting there depressed and they are all bubbly.

Not being 'seen' by one's therapist is not a good sign.
And if you're feeling depressed and they present as bubbly, that seems like a really bad fit. |

T's should match their client's energy levels. It's a form of empathy and rapport.

I also found that therapy made me anxious, I’m not normally aware of much anxiety in my every day life, but at times I felt huge anxiety within my relationships with T’s, and slept badly for periods while I was having therapy. I’m not currently having therapy and I’m sleeping amazingly. I think it would be possible for me to have therapy without feeling this huge anxiety, as there were periods when I was ok, but I need to find a super gentle T who would take things really slowly with me, each and every session.
