All i knew was that if you couldnt afford to buy something you saved up til you could, he wanted things now. Anyway his parents always want to control what their kids do even though they were in their 40s. Thye didnt want one son to start a tour company they really put the pressure on but he made 1/2 million in profits in 2019.

It's going to be a long day at work. I've finished the work I can do. I'm waiting on some part numbers from sales before I can do two invoices. So I am sitting in my office. In fact I am the only one in the whole building today. 8 out of 15 are out today. (Not covid) It's a funeral for the former owner. I didn't work for him as long as most of the other people so I didn't feel the need to go. I sent cards to his (grown) children when he passed so I felt that was sufficient. But unfortunately it gives me a lot of time to sit and think. I need to be distracted so I don't get panicky, edgy, and fragile like yesterday!

I did some retail therapy by sending flowers to a friend via 1800flowers. I am getting edgy and panicky and fragile again. I'm trying to think of ways to self soothe which is hard. I could put some music on, that might help. Thanks StressedMess

Have you checked out the Calm app? They have lots of meditations and soothing music. They also have sleep stories where people with nice voices read you stories, which I use every night to help with sleep, but would probably also work well to distract with during the day.

I just took some Xanax to try to not have a panic attack. I don't even know why I am panicking. I tried calling my parents first for support. Dad's phone went straight to voicemail and Mom didn't answer. I think I have worn out my support people this week so I just took the medicine. I mean, that's what it is there for. I just need to calm down, breathe, and not panic. Easier said than done.

Had a productive session with L again today. I brought in the thinking/writing I had done over the past week and shared much of it with her, and we discussed it again. I really like the way the past couple-3 sessions have worked. I said something today about how so many things seem to be coming together for me in the last month - things we've been talking about for the past umpteen years and she said "well, you're a slow cooker."

I think students need to quit whining. It really doesn't matter if feedback that is factually accurate is upsetting to them or not. Do not reinforce the idea that everyone needs to be super sensitive whiners and get rewarded for it. Suck it up buttercups. They are not owed constant ego stroking - I blame coddling parents and general idiots for this kind of nonsense getting any attention at all from the administration.
