Welcome to the couch, old and new! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't.
Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out from between the cushions if you're feeling lonely. This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented, sometimes. We try to be supportive. At times we discuss what that means. It’s a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends. We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("T") - we speak from experience. Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if it's a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread. Grab a cushion, a spot on the floor, or an armchair in the corner and make yourselves comfy. 232 - apparently a sullenberger type landing from the past. Proving those who dont know history really are doomed to repeat it. Heh. |

On a break from IOP. Different Therapist tonight. She seems okay. Nice enough. Of course she asked if there were any safety concerns and I was like, Nope! Then she was like any safety concerns this week. Dang it! So I had to say yeah. I was trying not to be defensive. I was like I already told R and J!

I ordered some stuff online about 6 weeks ago. After no tracking updates since 9/2, I finally called the shipping company (my ex-employer) to inquire and they agreed that the package was likely lost and suggested that I call the company I ordered from. So I did and they agreed to ship out my order again. Today, I unexpectedly received the first order. The second order is already in the works, so there's likely no stopping it from being sent. Should I feel a little guilty, because I feel a little guilty? These are both very large companies, so maybe I should feel fine about this snafu that's to my benefit.

Today is my birthday and for the first time in my life i got thoughtful gifts. My ex always bought me gifts that he wanted me to have like jewellery that i didnt like and was gold plated and ended up making my skin green eventually if he put a bit of thought and listened to me he would have bought sterling silver jewellry cheaper than gold plated. And dresses i never wear dresses. Anyway my daughter gave me several thoughtful presents and I didnt trealise receiving a gift could be so pleasant. Not pleasant that weird squishy feeling inside that i dont know the name for.

I finally cried a little tonight lighting the candle and reading our poem/blessing. It felt really connecting and special. She sent me a picture of her candle and I sent her a picture of mine. It was really touching and meaningful. I really love L, and am blessed to have her in my life in whatever way is possible.

This has happened to me before, and I also felt a bit guilty. But big companies have money built into their budgets for something like this. I agree with CE that if it would make you feel better, you could donate it (if it's the sort of thing you could donate). Or you could email the company and say that the original order arrived--I imagine they'd say to just keep the second one (I think that's what happened in my case). |

Excited but a little nervous too about the Zoom workshop that starts in about 10 minutes. I don't know yet how many people are going to be on it, or how many will be in each of the breakout groups when we will get to practice with each other. I shouldn't be nervous on Zoom for heaven's sake, one can always log off and pretend to have had computer problems if need be. Not that I expect that I would need to with this kind of workshop, this woo woo stuff doesn't usually attract too many mean people from my experience. I'm just shy around new people...

We are about ready to start the workshop, waiting for the last person to join, there are only 4 of us (5 including the instructor). Very small group. That will be nice.

Today is a Good Day in Artieland.
Just got home from having lunch with my son and his gf. We purposely timed it to get there at the end of the lunch shift which is their slowest time of day on Saturday, so there was only one other table occupied on the other side of the room. It was wonderful to see them again, I have missed my boy so much. We had great food, great conversation, and I even managed to wrangle a group selfie in the parking lot after haha! It did my heart so much good to see them so happy. I even got 3 meals to go so I can have Indian food several more times in the coming days! Gooood stuff, Maynard. I had the Malai Kofta (sp?) there, and brought home Chicken Pasanda Nawabi, Baigan Barta, and Daal Makhani. I have not tried any of these yet but am looking forward to it! Also, not to be too over the top but the first morning of the workshop was fantastic! Once I found out it was such a small group, that put me more at ease. Well, and besides, once we actually got started I was of course all in my element and stuff, no more nervousness, and the 3+ hours went by SO quickly. The lady I was paired with twice in the breakout rooms is very friendly and it was delightful talking with her one-on-one. Excited for more tomorrow! |

I'm playing this game on my Switch and it's just too damn hard. I'm having a crappy week and I just want to try to entertain myself. Not die 20 times replaying the same sequence until I manage to press the button in the exact millisecond that will let me not die. That's frustrating, not entertaining.

My most recent obsession on the Switch was Littlewood. It's so mellow that it makes Stardew Valley seem stressful by comparison.
