I just had a cortisone shot in my knee. Last time I had it was 15 years ago. Dang those hurt! I'm such a baby with needles even though I have tons of tattoos. But I think it might be working. I don't think I feel as much pain. I'm limping, but it's because it feels weird.

I guess I pushed a button is all. Not on purpose. But I did.

You are not responsible for others feelings. That's what my L tells me.

And then I said I wanted to talk about it with him (ex-MC), and he said he thought I should talk about it with Dr. T instead. And then said something about trying to keep clear and consistent boundaries around marriage counseling (this was over text). To which I said something like, "Oh, now you're trying to play the boundary card?" Which is when he called me and was very harsh toward me. I suspect it was because I challenged him and was critical, and he couldn't deal with that, so got not just defensive, but offensive.

Anyway, I was just wondering if something like that could be happening with L? Where you were challenging/questioning/pushing her, and she's not used to that, so she's expressing anger and/or frustration?

Whatever is going on, I hope tomorrow is helpful.

Not challenging or questioning her, but definitely pushing the limits of her patience. Not intentionally, but....I need to think about why I did that before I see her tomorrow.

And thanks. I'm sure it will be. I still have a lot of faith in the length of time the relationship was totally solid - and in her as a t. And in me. We can both do this.

How do you tell family that you want a loved one to move out?... I think this will have to be part of my session with L tomorrow even though I really need to focus on me and surviving all of this.

Gingerbread Oreos are a thing and they're actually quite nice.

I recently subscribed to this snacks-from-different-countries box and this month it's Scandinavian snacks, never mind that's not an actual country. One of them is a nougat + caramel candy bar covered in chocolate, so like a US Milky Way (don't know what that's called elsewhere), with salty licorice. I can't decide if that sounds good or awful. I do like licorice, but my brain isn't cooperating with the concept of adding it to a Milky Way. It's called 'Yankie Lakrids' and is from Denmark.

NP- the snacks box sounds like something my son would enjoy. Do you mind sharing a link or name so I can take a look?

Acupuncture has made a huge difference in my sleep. I remember *longing* for just one night of half-decent sleep, for years. Constant night waking, early morning waking. After a few sessions, I was getting decent sleep almost every night. After additional treatments for my tmj I started sleeping consistently and it's lasted even though I haven't been for a couple months. (Jaw clenching and tooth grinding, also gone.)

I'm still not sure I even believe in it, although I definitely believe in the curative effects of lying still for 20 minutes alone in a dark room. Whether it's real, placebo, magic, who cares?

Sure, no problem. 'Scandinavia' is only my second box, but it's kind of interesting to see what other countries snack on. Turkey was the first box, and by far the best snack was this Snowball type thing that was chocolate and coffee flavored, and I don't even like coffee, but it was delicious.

Chocolate is one of my favourite subjects - what America calls a Milky Way is known as a Mars bar in the UK. The UK Milky Way is similar to the US 3 Musketeers bar.

The UK box is funny. Some of those brands are well known (Mackies crisps are the best and I am a recognised crisp expert of many years training and specialist research) and all the snacks are popular. However, some of the brands are not well known or are really low quality. It's an uncanny box, a Stepford snack box if you will.

Oh hang on, unless some snacks are
specifically chosen because they are from Wales and Northern Ireland. I wouldn't know those snacks, I only know English and Scottish snacks. Huh, in which case this would be a pretty cool box. My my, you live and learn. I still have so much to discover about life.

Actually, this is really cool if they have broken down the snacks into the four nations. Usually, UK just translates as "England" which is boring and inaccurate. I wonder what the drinks would be. Scotland would be Irn Bru of course. Would Vimto be England's offering? Horlicks maybe? I would say tea but of course we stole that like we steal everything. Oh they could branch out and have a colonial box for the politically minded snack consumer. Tea, Bombay mix, gin.

Those boxes look amazing, wished they'd ship to here :P

Also, today I learned milky ways are not the same in Europe and the US. I always assume they are the same... our milky ways are like in the UK and Mars is the name of the US version too.

My friend has now lived in Finland for years. The first time she visited there, she brought back this licorice snack called (I'm sure I'm butchering the spelling) salmyaki. It was on one of the most vile things I've ever tasted, and I had to spit it out. Wonder if the licorice in the bar is similar, as it was also salty? (I know, different country, but nearby!) Trying to imagine a Milky Way involving that...

Apparently they even have a popular liqueur based on it. No thanks!

I used Universal Yums for a while, too, and it was good. I preferred the sweet snacks to the salty, but I thought it was a good value. Plus if there's a snack you really liked, you can go on their site and order more of just that one! (I stopped when I had the gastric bypass.)
