I am still upset because my ex turned up yesterday to see our youngest daughter but nobody told me he was coming it was quite a shock to go outside and see him. Also he is still making things up he made up a story about how one of our dogs survived a snake bite by licking cane toads he claimed the vet asked if he licked cane toads and my ex said yes and the vet said that was what saved him. My ex has never taken any of our pets to the bet ever i wanted to say that it didnt happen that way but didnt want to get told that I was the one who didnt remember properly like he always does. Also he has asked our daughter to take 2 weeks off work to babysit her demented grandparents so he can go have his cataracts done. He has 3 other brothers and a family friend who is like a daughter to the parents why cant she take 2 weeks off? Why cant they get respite from veteran affairs?

Just in case people dont know dogs lick cane toads to get high in small amounts the toxin has a psychedelic effect

Cats... Going have to bid goodbye to the one who loves me when I move out. He's not mine. He hates being picked up and hates when people touch his belly, but he loves lying next to me and demanding physical affection.

I've trained him to jump off my bed and run out of the room by touching his belly gently lol. Otherwise I'll be stuck trying to pick him up while he meows crankily, becomes pure deadweight, and sinks his claws into my bedsheets.

Rarely, he'll ask for belly pets. He pretty much can fall asleep curled up anywhere next to me (oh the snores and twitching in his dreams).

The night he fell asleep belly up right next to me is so precious. He actually got in my lap for the very first time after close to 2 years too.

Going to miss him but it's really best for me and my friend/landlord that I move out.

Morning couch! Had a restful day off yesterday, back at it this morning. Decided to take the time to make a hot breakfast, hoping that will give me a little more energy with which to begin to take on another long work week! Thankfully my cold is already better, the cold medicine h went out and got me pretty much cut it off at the pass... not sneezing anymore and the headache went away now just waiting for the congestion to clear up. Well I better go feed the cats then get logged onto work. Later couchies hugs and headnods all around as appropriate.

Hope you have a good day of work, Artie.

I am still on the fence about contacting Steve's wife regarding the book that almost was. I wish there was a clear-cut right or wrong answer. Because of the way that I found out the book was cancelled, I also know that some copies were made.

I really don't know what to do here.

This does sound really difficult. Have you had any contact with his wife before? If so, that could make it easier. If not it could be worth reaching out. She may feel touched that someone would want his book. Is there anyone else you know who knows his wife personally (assuming you don't) that you could ask?

Here and there, in comments on Steve's Facebook page. Nothing substantial, though.

Not knowing too many details about the situation, I think I would be charmed if somebody inquired about something my spouse had been working on that was important to them. It would be good to know that they were being remembered like that by other people.

Thanks, EM.

Possible trigger:
He was a powerful source of support to me for four years, and always seemed to make sure that I had access to the resources he put into the world.

He announced the release date for this book a couple of weeks before his exit, and said he'd be sending launch team information soon. The previous book was released (posthumously, on the anniversary of Steve's first attempt) in September, and I was blindsided by the realisation that this one was cancelled. I have been talking with R at length, trying to answer the 'Who am I to ask?' question.

I did so on Thursday, and wasn't able to write it down. The more I think about this, the more I tie myself in knots...but there must be a reason why I can't just let it go.

Regarding tying yourself in knots, seems like the reason is clear. There's something you want but feel inhibited from trying to get. I don't think there needs to be any hidden or deeper meaning in that. You're conflicted. Seems normal.

I really need to stop looking at covid news. I just saw that there were 2,500 new cases just YESTERDAY in my county. For pete's sake. It makes me feel almost claustrophobic in a way like it's closing in on me closer and closer and closer and I start feeling afraid to leave my house. We have a little over a million people in my county. How does the math work again?

Did you test yourself to see if your cold is covid? Because I know 3 people who recently tested positive, are all vaccinated, and they felt like they had mild colds.

I'm watching Exorcist II: The Heretic and I must say I'm shocked at Regan's psychiatrist.

I should have named the tiny terror pazuzu.

I survived my first walk in snowy ice on the new body part. I was so scared of falling the walk took us about an extra half hour. But I feel triumphant because I didn't fall. The bar is not set all that high

Art, my Covid is exactly like a cold. Oh I was so pissed off about catching it after being so careful for so long! My state recently had 20k positive cases in just one day. It's everywhere. I've accepted that it's just unavoidable and I'm glad I didn't have a more serious reaction. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time!
