@Quietmind I am so sorry to hear you experienced that! It honestly makes me sick that there are people in the industry willing to treat others like this for their own ego. That is beyond disgusting!
I have all the emails, etc I sent him as proof and also have the notes from the hospital to take with me to my new Dr. I dont have any stigma against people with BPD myself and I feel like if they were treated with more empathy and compassion they wouldnt be so "difficult to treat", blaming the patient for responding to more abuse with symptomatic behaviours. Classic... However I genuinely just dont relate to the symptoms and struggles people with BPD have so I seriously question this diagnosis in my case. I don't know if I am just on high alert and being paranoid, but I have this deadfull feeling like this isnt over yet |

I agree with you that folks with BPD need compassion, and evidence based treatment for them involves being trauma sensitive, and recognising they're "needy" due to important unmet emotional needs not "manipulative" or "difficult to treat". I'm simply afraid he'll use the stigma against you, because he's already so abusive. It's good that you are able to articulate why BPD doesn't fit you, plus I hope you've backup copies of all that evidence. You're being appropriately cautious and I hope that's enough for you to be safe from him. Fingers crossed for you that the new psychiatrist is way way way better than this absolutely terrible dude. |

Thank you for the hugs slumberkitty, greatly appreciated and thank you so much quiet for your reply!
I am afraid I am not back with good news, I was told to go back to my old psychiatrist because they believe it is more beneficial to fix ruptures (yes thats what they think it is) than to walk away from it and start anew so I will be starting with him again next month... I feel really pissed off that I am the one paying for it but THEY get to make the decisions just because they are doctors! Pathetic... Anyway I am feeling nervous about next month, maybe I can convince him to give me a termination letter or refer me out? At least one thing... they agree I dont gave BPD and so does the Psychotherapist they asked to provide a second eval |
