I've been watching reruns of Emergency! with Randolph Mantooth and Kevin Tighe before bed lately. They get themselves into some interesting situations.

Actually i saw it again recently and was able to follow the storyline this time and quite enjoyed it.

Looking at haircuts again. In my current mood I probably should not do anything because I would probably go shorter than I really want. But there's SO many cute ones I'm finding pics of, I wish they showed what they look like from the front too. I just feel like changing myself up all the way around... it's a season of unsettled-ness...

Yay, solved my first Duotrigordle! (Been trying since @@ mentioned it about a week ago.) Felt lots of pressure when I was down to one extra guess with nine words left to solve, but I got there.

Kilordle is actually quite easy, but I have found doing it every now and then helps me a great deal with Wordle and Quirdle. I need to try Duotrigordle though.

Lately, I feel like my friends don't understand me when I try to explain about problems with accessing care for my mental health. I also don't feel like I have a lot of options for my mental health. It is making me feel depressed. I try to explain to my friends but they don't get it. I also don't feel encouraged or supported by my friends (in real life, not on here). I try to tell them what would be encouraging to hear, and I had to tell one friend that what she told me kind of hurt my feelings but I am remembering that she cares about me and that I think she loves me (she never really says it so I don't know for sure). I feel like I am all alone, cast about with no way to get appropriate help.

You are hillary here. Youre just on a different plane. Your friends are at the cookie recipe plane. We are all hillary here. The books we've read, the time we've spent in t, discussing here - the knowledge on the Couch alone bowls me over sometimes.

It's hard for people to "get it" if they don't have any or have little experience with mental health. And even if they do have experience, they can't read your mind what you need. Even with L: she doesn't know what I need all the time. Sometimes she guesses right, other times she needs me to tell her what will help.

I've been learning and practicing telling others exactly what I need. They have been more than willing to provide me with what helps. Even my family who usually suck at supporting me have gotten better since I've been more direct. Be as specific as you can. Whether it be a certain reassurance, encouragement, acknowledgement, mirroring, etc., or if you just need a hug.

It's just hard when your support people aren't being very supportive. Dr's aren't being supportive. Etc. I just feel like I'm screwed.

I am being inpatient today. I am waiting on T to text me back and let me know if I am overreacting. (I probably am!) I sent her a long text....probably should have been an email....describing a WhatsApp conversation I had with a friend. I just felt like my friend was totally misunderstanding my frustration
trigger for SH/Medical

Possible trigger:

about not being able to get medical help for SH without the threat of hospitalization--which been there, does that, did nothing to treat the self harm. Wasn't brought up in group. Wasn't brought up with the social worker. The pdoc just said say you won't do that again. Yeah, not helpful. My friend was like, I hope your therapist can help you see that you are backing yourself into a corner. I don't know if I am or if I am not. All I know is that either way I try it, if I go to get medical attention for the SH half the time they won't stitch it, and just call the psych eval people and the other times because I wait too long they can't stitch it and they still call the psych people. I can't seem to win. I know the solution is to stop SH-ing. But so far I haven't managed that. T said that my OCD is complicating healing from self harm and she is pointing out how that is the case. Since none of my other therapists have ever treated me for OCD maybe this is a missing piece of the puzzle.

T must be in session all day because she usually will respond within a few hours. It's okay that she hasn't, I know she would if she could. It's just I'm being inpatient! So it is good for me to learn to sit with the impatience and see where it leads.

trigger for dental work

On a different note, I did some self care today. As I think I have mentioned before, I have benign tumors in my mouth. Last year I had a piece of the bone disconnect from the bone tumor and come out through the gums. It was terribly painful and I was about to the point where I was going to call the dentist when the bone fragment came out and my mouth no longer hurt. This year we got different dental insurance and I am hoping it is better so I made an appointment to be seen because in the back of my mouth there is a place where it looks and feels like the gum has worn off and the bone is exposed. It doesn't hurt as bad as last year but it is uncomfortable and I am worried about infection. It could be a bone spur which would likely work it's way out on it's own but it doesn't seem sharp, just flat. It causes me pain but not unbearable pain. Anyway, the wait and see method hasn't worked so I called the number on my insurance card today and got an appointment for Monday at 3:30 PM. I hope they can just look at it and figure out what to do without having to do x-rays because the last time I got x-rays the plastic thing that you bite down on for them to take the x-rays scraped the gums over the tumors and it was very painful. I do not plan on going through that again. I hope they can just do some sort of quick repair and send me on my way.
