To tell me it sounds like I have a form of leukemia when he hasn't talked to my doctors or seen any of my blood test results? I just now googled what he told me he thinks I have.

Its been a while since i googled your condition caused by the meds, but yeah i agree there are certain root words in common. But i think hes saying its LIKE leukemia, as opposed to idk a broken foot. Its in that body system.
Did you see that story about the 2 yr old boy who looks six because his dad's t cream rubbed off on him? That stuff seems pretty safe except for all the rubbing mishaps. At least ive never run across bad blood tests from it. You really have to advocate for yourself. |

Still though should a pdoc be telling their patient they have cancer? Or any medical condition that they themselves are not qualified to diagnose? This is the same guy who switched me to another benzo after I told him I was completely out of control with the last one.

Yeah, not great, the Benzo thing. Are you wanting to leave him and find another?

If it were a case where you were having symptoms but not already getting medical care, I could see him saying something like, "There's a chance it could be leukemia, so you should be checked out." (or at least that it could be something serious). But because you're already getting treatment for it, he really shouldn't mention random things. Yes, he does have a medical degree, but I doubt he has training in oncology. So I agree it's irresponsible--plus, maybe it could scare you needlessly. |

Maybe I just like him because of the valium he's gotten me hooked on and I'm scared another pdoc will take that away.

He sounds like he is taking all of himself into the room with him. I was wondering about the world ending at some point in the last 2 years, too (though I had had something similar to a psychosis the year before corona started, so part of that was an aftereffect). I saw a documentary on Benzos the other day. Are you considering slowly getting off them once your physical ailments are dealt with? Might be something to discuss with him or another pdoc. You don't have to leave him, but you could maybe get a second opinion, right?

It's unprofessional and unethical on so many levels.
