Like what room of your house and do you sit in a chair or on the floor or something. I don't typically do remote but when I do I do them in my room in my bed because there is always someone home in my house and it is truly the only place I can do them. Sometimes I feel weird doing sessions in bed but she never seems bothered by it even when I'm noticeably nodding off. Its just sometimes I have a bit of a crush on her. Other times shes just normal. I think I want to like her more then I actually do.

I have my own apartement, so it's not an issue. Sorry you're dealing with this. Sounds like you're making the best of a difficult situation.

You could buy a very small, but high side table, so you're laptop/phone would be on it and you'd have to sit on the edge of your bed instead of propped up on a cussion (if that's what you do). Would be less comfortable, but you'd also be less likely to fall asleep. Just a though, btw, not sure if it's any good.

I do telehealth in my bed too. It's the only place in the apartment that I can have privacy. But if H is home, he's just on the other side of the wall. It's hard doing deep work when I worry about him listening in. He probably doesn't, but it's still a fear.

For the beginning of the pandemic I did sessions in bed because it was the only place I could get privacy. Then 6 months in we did a small remodel project and I ended up with an office, and I did sessions in there going forward. I did end up getting a white noise machine to put outside my door - I use headphones and typically don't talk all that loud so all of it together made me feel a little safer privacy-wise.

I live alone in my apartment, well, with my 5 cats. But they don't show interest in my therapy

When we had to do covid telehealth I sat at my desk, which takes up a big part of my tiny living room.

I've generally done sessions in the master bedroom, which is the top floor of our townhouse. I have a really small desk (just big enough for my laptop and mouse) in there and a chair, so I'd sit there. H's office is right down the stairs, so I'd have a fan going outside the door, then a white noise machine in the bedroom. I did check once to see if he could hear me with that setup when he wasn't home (playing music loudly on my laptop, then checking in his office, and he couldn't. I mean, I guess if I shouted (or T did), but that doesn't really happen.

Personally, I'd feel weird about laying in bed for it, but that's just me--there's nothing wrong with doing that. Though if falling asleep is an issue, then I agree with the suggestions of sitting on the edge of the bed, if you can put whatever device you're using on a small table, dresser, etc. If you're using your phone, you can get something to prop that up.

Unfortunately in my house (that I share with my parents) the only place we get really good reception is in the dining room at the desk. I wear headphones and I don't talk loudly and my parents sit in the living room for the most part and have the TV on. I hope they don't listen in but I can't be sure of that.

For the most part I use our den. I have tried sitting on my bed with my back against the headboard and a family room in our basement. Sitting on my bed feels weird. The family room is a large open room that leads to other rooms. Of course somebody had to enter one of the other rooms. The den while have set backs is my best option. However, on the other side of the wall is my sons room and the walls in our house do not have sound barriers so if he is home we can hear everything. If hubby is cooking dinner in the kitchen I hear most of what he does as well as the tv.

When we were still doing zoom sessions I sat in our spare bedroom (that used to be my son's room before he moved out) and was able to close the door. Didn't stop h from coming in at least once.every.session to ask a dumb question that could have waited. I think he was afraid I was talking about him or something. When we did phone sessions a long time ago while she lived out of state for awhile, I used to sit in my car for privacy because we lived in a small trailer at that point and there was no privacy inside! Or if my session was right after work I'd sit in my car in the office parking lot (that was long before I started working at home).

Sometime libraries have small rooms you can reserve although there may be windows in the doors

The living room. I don't know what I'll do if my dad is home for a therapy session though because I sleep on the couch.
