Hi there!
I’ve never worked with insurance before and need to do so soon. I see that there’s Z63.4 is uncomplicated bereavement. There’s also F43.8, but that’s for prolonged. I hear the Z codes aren’t normally accepted. Should that still be used? Are there other common codes that are used? I’m in California. Thank you! |

Hi @cvonb -welcome to MSF My Support Forums. Sorry you are grieving. We also have a Grief Forum if you care to post there. https://mysupportforums.org/grief-and-loss/
As far as insurance codes go, I never get involved with those. I contact my insurer and they take care of it. If you need codes to submit for reimbursement, I would think that the insurer should be able to provide that. Hope you get the support you are looking for. __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

Hi! Your doctor should also be able to provide you with the correct code. HUG Kit

I've heard of Adjustment Disorder being used for grief (and that's not a Z code).
