Hi,

To make a very long story short, I was seeing a therapist for some time—they had to leave their job suddenly, and for reasons out of my control I could not follow them to their private practice. They stopped practicing to spend time with their family.

I learned today that they will be returning to practice soon, and that they are willing to take me on as a client. I plan to talk about it with them in depth when they reach out in the next few months, but I’m wondering if anyone has experienced this before?

For clarification: They treated me when I was a very young adult, just out of teenage-hood. It’s been more than 10 years, but we recently re-connected via email.

My first T I saw when I was in my early twenties. I saw her for about 3 years. We left on good terms so when I was having issues in my mid thirties I reached out to her.
It was a bit different than when I first saw her. I found she was much more open, as was I. But because we liked each other before it was fine.

Thank you so much for your response. I’m hoping they reach out when they’ve re-established themselves in the therapy world.
