Couch 244: Great Expectations

I texted with my friend last night who was also my ex's friend. I asked if he knew how to contact the ex and if he would be okay messaging him to give his stuff back to him. He is in contact with him. Not sure how frequently. He said he's still living in a halfway house and sounds medicated. I asked if he ever expressed any remorse about the fire or asked if I was ok. Friend said it's never come up. I'm feeling pretty lousy that he's never asked the one person who could tell him about me. He screwed my life up and he doesn't even care.

I was trying to understand what exhanker was on about. I still don't know what she was trying to get at. I am in a position of not knowing if I agree or disagree (certainly this is more likely) because of lack of clarity

I do have a little hurdle with people who say it is okay to be lgbtq but just don't let others know/make others feel uncomfortable/don't "flaunt it etc= that is the language I heard 45 yrs ago when coming out - when putting the photo of my person on my desk was seen as an act of radical lesbianism but a male co-worker's picture of his wife was not radical heterosexuality = that sort of thing

If he is anything like my ex he has created for himself an entire narrative in which he is free from blame, everything is your fault, and you deserved to have your life screwed up.

Transgenderism. Or just genderism. What does it mean to be a boy or a girl. I understand what social norms are. Physical mutilation is a bridge too far for me. Drs are telling clients they can change their plumbing for them to the opposite sex. But they can't. I would prefer more attention be paid to expanding social norms. To where *I* dont get weird looks for going into the ladies bathroom.

I did watch a guy playing in a striped uniform last night make two great catches in the outfield - jumping up and catching the ball going over the fence on one and slumping down it with the ball in his glove. He must be new and they kept showing his dad (I think) watching the game.

The hard part of being friends with others is that sometimes they want to do stuff you don't = so a bbq with friends and a tv combined - even I glanced at it a couple of times.

I have no plans to see it.

Bored of seeing Barbie everywhere, same like the Flowers song by Miley cyrus.

Papier (stationary shop) , M&S a supermarket and a hair salon I follow have all done posts about it.

Also Oppenheimer is out too. I like war movies so would prefer to see that.

I like Margot Robbie so I am very torn about seeing Barbie. I, Tonya was really moving for me because I saw elements of my mother in the horror of her mother. Barbie, not so much.
