I've not been having much luck with my assigned CM/RCs.
The first one I had was a good guy & empathic, as we shared a lot of experiences. However, he left (I suspect the job got to him) and nobody bothered to tell me for a couple of months - only after physically inquiring in person when I turned up for a different appointment did I find this out & that I'd not yet been assigned a new one. I left that place I little while later for that and other reasons. The one I've got now, seems a decent enough person, but seems to only want me to regurgitate how (exceptionally crap) I feel each week - he nods in the appropriate places and indicates he understands, but doesn't seem to want to offer anything in the way of suggestions or a plan to help me function better. It's early days and I'm waiting for some of the other bits to fall in place (get a new PCP, Pdoc and hopefully a therapist) and I appreciate been seen so regularly, but frankly, just going over how I feel on a weekly basis without any obvious sign of a roadmap out of it is making me feel worse than when I started. I'm thinking of basically stating this to him & cancelling those appointments until there's something else/concrete to try, but I don't want antagonize the guy, as he's my main point of access to getting help. Would this be the wrong step? Am I missing something obvious? |

I think you are identifying your needs and you need to express that to him. Maybe if he knows what you need then he can help.

Sometimes we just need patience until the pieces come together.....HOWEVER there is nothing wrong with expressing your feelings & concerns & maybe get a time frame when those pieces are expected to come together. Right now you are kinda dangling at the end of a line waiting for anything to start happening & that is a horrible feeling. Communicating that & them communicating what is going on their end is how trust is built. Sounds like time for some real communication so they also know that you care & are interested in knowing their progress too
