I asked my new therapist if I could get a copy of my records from old therapist and new therapist
said it not an good idea now I want to know what in them records it my right to see them records right |

I have no idea if it’s your right or not, I’ll let others answer that one ! My T takes a lot of notes, I’ve been curious and wanted to ask a few times to see what she is writing. I didn’t though, because I think I could be upset to see how she summarised up my words, maybe leaving out things or whatever. I understand this has to happen but I think it is easy to assume a lot of us could be upset over what did / didn’t make it into the notes
Maybe that’s all your T means, that it’s just not a good idea in general |

Not sure where you are, but here in the uk your allowed to see your own records about health - physical and mental health
You cant request other peoples, but you can request your own |

Yeah I'm in Scotland and I obtained my mental health records from the NHS (Health System) the other month. Just the last 13 years. Under the new government laws the must give you access to your notes in the UK anyways unsure about else where in the world. I would ask your T the reasoning behind it but also ask yourself why you want your notes??
