I personally haven't had good experiences with them so no. They don't listen or care, in my personal experience.

Not most of them. I trust my current one though. Most of the time.

They're like every other person. Some you like, some you dislike. Some you trust, some you don't. You're not meant to trust everyone you meet. And if you don't trust or like you therapist, psychiatrist, or even doctors, find a new one. Or don't. It's okay to not want to see psych professionals. That is a choice.

ETA: I do trust my therapist almost completely. Same with my last therapist. It took me several psychiatrists to find one I like. I don't trust her completely, but enough to keep her as a psychiatrist. I've also had horrible experiences with psych professionals, but my need for them kept me searching until I found good ones.

I've been told, in the past, that I was faking it, that I was a leech, I was fat, I was lying, and to stop acting so Borderline. I've been yelled at, lied to, rejected, and abandoned. AND I have found some really good people along the way.

I'm sorry you have not had any good experiences with psych professionals. I know when I was with "bad" ones, I felt hopeless, grief, and rejected.

Have only seen one and did not enjoy the experience. I am not looking forward to going back. I just felt like a fake like I shouldn’t be there. I wish I could deal exclusively with my T

I do. I have always said I trust my therapists aa much as I could.. I realized over the last week how much I really trust my therapist. I trust her in a way I never thought possible. For a while now there have been little signs that something was off with her... Sometimes she seems tired and other times a bit distracted. Last week she was really distracted and mentioned it near the end of the session..

Despite this, I didn't think it was about me. I feared many thing such as her cancer returned, there was something going on with her husband or child , etc. In the past, I would have feared she was bored or frustrated with me. Or that I was too much. Today in seasion I mentioned my observation. He first response was to tell me it waa not about me...When I told her I was confident that it was not about that she seemed pleasantly surprised. Then she explained a medical issue she is dealing with. It helped me immensely.

I do not, due to multiple bad experiences. They didn't care or even listen in my personal experience..
