I think Dr. T has reached new levels of self-contradiction that I didn't think possible today. He's so incredibly confusing at times...

May share more later. Things are OK in the relationship--he's just...confusing.

Thanks for sharing that article, NP.

It's reassuring to see that the PW manager I use is well thought of.

My original choice was hacked a while ago...that didn't fill me with confidence.

Thanks! For some reason, I've always been suspicious of these. But I'll give one a try.

Morning couch, hugs and head nods all around as needed/wanted/appropriate.

We are back home, good to sleep in my own bed last night. It was so wonderful spending time with my son and his gf!! We saw so much beauty, so different from our desert here. Watching him with his gf - there's so much mutual love and respect there and I am just so proud of the man that he has become. They both seem really happy living there. I miss him a lot sometimes, but, it did my heart so good to see how happy he is (they are) up there.

Hi Couch,

Hope today's being kind to you.

If you're working in a small team...am I right in thinking it's good practice to let your colleagues know you're going on holiday?

My colleague and I have a writing workshop to plan for the end of the month...and I was informed today that she's on holiday until next Tuesday.

I've now been cornered into having a planning meeting the Thursday before the workshop, when I will have had therapy in the morning...and not be much good to anyone afterwards.

This seems to happen quite often, and I'm getting fed up, but there's not much I can do about it.

I would definitely say it's good practice to let people know about upcoming vacations. With my husband's work, they have the ability to see each other's (work) Google Calendars--I wonder if something like that could be an option, to be able to see people's upcoming vacations (or days off for other reasons) for planning?

I'd be bothered by this, too! In terms of the day of the meeting, I wonder if there's something you could do to help you transition from therapy to work? Can you take some time to yourself to do whatever feels healing or calming to you?

Thanks, LT.

I've just asked my colleague whether there's any way we can reschedule to the Wednesday.

If she's not able, then I will have to think about how to move from therapy to work.

The position I'm in at the moment is weird, because I don't want people to know I'm struggling necessarily...but I'd like them to understand.

Maybe that's another conversation I need to have with R...but not this week.

The Clackamas - then you were by Beverly Cleary's hometown? I think she grew up there somewhere.

Wow, Artie.

I'd love to paint that.

Would you mind?

I looked it up, apparently she's from McMinnville; that's about 30 miles or something from where my son lives.

This is an issue you should bring up with your manager. It's not unreasonable to want to know when others will be away. You should be notified if you're supposed to be working together.

Next time, go see Mt. St. Helens. The movies at the visitor center were pretty good and at the end they open this giant curtain to a beautiful view of the mountain (unless it's cloudy when you can't see a thing). The chunk that's missing is pretty impressive.

I hope to do that for sure. It's a little over 2 hours from my son's place I think, so definitely a possibility!

Time to head to my pre-op appointment with the gyno... so far I just have 2 more questions so will get those answered today. H left on a job earlier he'll be gone a minimum of 6 hours so I'll still have some quiet time after I get home from my appt. He gets annoyed with me for being nervous about all of this so I'm glad he's not going with me today.
