Possible trigger:

you know it's going to be unpleasant when they tell you to take a pain reliever 30 minutes before. my friend said it was the worst thing she'd ever experienced. I know that's all relative of course; I'm pretty much 100% it won't be as painful as what I just went through in June. If I have to have one, I'm still gonna ask for a sedative anyway.

Possible trigger:

If they're doing the biopsy by going through the cervix... I don't mean to scare you, but that **** hurts! Like your friend, that was the worst pain I've ever experienced. I've had them go through the cervix 3 times. I will never do it again! Definitely take the Ibuprofen. Start the night before and then 30mins before the procedure. Definitely ask for a sedative if they will do that. Now, it is supposed to be easier for women who have had a child already, and people's pain tolerance are different, but just be prepared for it to hurt. Would rather you go in and it be easier than expected than to give you false hope that it will be nothing.

I also had this done, and it was incredibly painful. And I've had a child, but via C-section, so not, uh, via that area. Gynecologists seem to downplay it, like, "Oh, it's not that bad," but it's pretty painful.

But I also wonder, if they're talking about general anesthesia and blood thinners, if they might be doing more of a regular surgery, going in through the abdomen to biopsy the actual polyp rather than the uterine lining, which I think is what the other test is for? In that case, you'd be under, so wouldn't feel it. I'd definitely clarify what exactly they'll be doing.

Thanks for sharing that, Scarlet. I do much prefer to hear actual experiences so I can know what to realistically expect for the exact reason you said.

Thanks LT. I'm sorry you've had to go through it. I've read other accounts online by googling it and so many people have said it's painful. I hate that they (the dr's) act like it's no big deal. Anyway she's talking about doing two separate things - sorry if I've been confusing. The biopsy is one, that would be done in her office, and then the surgery to remove the polyp is a completely different procedure, that would be a minor surgery done in the hospital and I'd be knocked out for that.

ETA: Catching up on family news: my aunt(in-law) passed last night, so i called my mother's sister to let her know, and we had a nice chat. So now i am looking for excuses not to attend the funeral.

I went to the street parade today, apparently it's the biggest techno event in the world that happens yearly. It's not really my music, but I got to meet up with a few friends and just be out and about, which is nice.

the hematologist said i should wait 6 months before he will okay my going off the Xarelto for 2 days before the surgery; he said if I have to have the biopsy, it would be okay for me to go off of it for one day prior to that. I left a message yesterday letting the gyno know. so we'll see when I hear back from her, what my next step will be.

Cant say we werent close. She like single-handedly ruined my life. It wasnt just my parents weirdness, it was hers too. And my mother knew about it, but she threw me under the bus for my brother's sake.

I wish i had run away after high school and stayed away from all of them. So no, i dont want to see any of them now. I just dont want to feel bad and fall into self-sabotage. I cant afford it. Healthwise mainly. So i am trying to take care of myself.

I am going to be like Inspector Morse and leave in my will that i want no ceremony! Except on here, of course!

I'm so sorry Una. I didn't know everything else that had gone on in the background. You don't deserve to feel bad and everything else that comes with that. You do need to put yourself first right now.

I hope you do continue to maintain your boundaries I was listening to this lady today. She does have a good channel and videos that are worth a listen.

I'm really looking forward to visiting my son and his gf next month. It's only a short trip, because we don't want to leave old cat too long (our friend is going to come check on him, but still) so we're only going to be gone for 3 nights. I think after I get these current health issues completely behind me, I'll plan a longer trip up there on my own! I'm really excited to see where they live and stuff, do some hiking, check out some of the waterfalls near them, etc.
