My brother now sees a therapist at the practice although I've never told my own T. I'm guessing she might know. My brothers T knows I see someone there. My sisters family knows the receptionist now because I've had to bring my niece over to the office a few times and now they know each other from baseball games and somehow she ended up with a bag of baby clothes that my brother in law gave her.

I feel kinda weird that my entire family now knows these people. And that my brother sees a therapist and my own T and his T and maybe my old T and the receptionist may be talking about us all.

Would you feel weird about all this?

My brother married my long-time (15 years) therapist's sister (they met in psych graduate school), so a) cant get much weirder than that and b) the problem was, my brother tried to say that i then had to stop seeing my t (even though i had been seeing her for several years already), because she should not be seeing quote a family member. Obviously he was just experiencing sibling rivalry and trying to take "mom" away from baby sister me. So my t told him to bug off.

Are you concerned about the lack of privacy, or primacy? It should have been exclusively your safe space. You can remind your t that she should not be discussing your stuff with your brother's t, get assurance that she isnt? You really should have that privacy. If it bothers you, yeah i would move agencies.

Yes it would bother me.

My mum started seeing the same therapist I’d seen several years before, a lot of my issues had been about our relationship. I benefited from therapy and had a positive regard for the therapist. I encouraged my mum to relate to the therapist but she put barriers up and was quite critical of the therapist, ended the sessions early. Not the same as your situation but I did feel uneasy about us having the same therapist, even though I wanted my mum to benefit. It felt like it crossed some sort of boundary through.

It certainly would bother me. Maybe an conversation with your T would help?

And now my brother had sort of a rupture with his therapist today and his therapist was a bit of a jerk to him and now I'm hoping it won't get back to my therapist and start things up. I know I'm probably just being paranoid though. But people talk. My brother is pretty upset
