I would imagine something about the complete and amazing inappropriateness of such a request

She might ask if you are asking it for shock value in order to get some kind of reaction and attention or you really think she’d go for it? In either case she might suggest exploring what makes you ask outrageous questions, what’s an underlining reason etc

I've told L about some of my fantasies (some about her, some not). She handled it extremely well. For me, they're just thoughts, not desires.
It sounds like your fantasies are desires? I think if you have a good therapist, she'll handle discussing fantasies well. The fact that you want to ask her for your fantasy sounds extremely inappropriate no matter how your therapist reacts. Also, you asking here how she'd react, shows that you know this would be inappropriate. I don't know what you hope to gain by doing this. You know the answer is no, so why ask? I think it would be healthier, more appropriate to talk about your fantasies, not asking for it. __________________ "Odium became your opium..." ~Epica |

only your own therapist can answer that.
what I can tell you is what my own therapist would say. nothing, and no topic is off limits between my therapist and I. I have told her before that she is a beauty, and she knows which characteristics I'm attracted to. she knows my sexual orientation. the first time the issue came up her reply was laughter and the words "pray tell" meaning this should be an interesting conversation lets talk. See fantasizing is normal and natural and sometimes can reveal a lot more about the person doing the fantasizing, day dreaming, then it does about the fantasy content. most therapist are really great at analyzing dreams and fantasies. dream work was one of my therapists' areas of interest and she includes that area in her training as a therapist. So she welcomes her clients to talk about their dreams, daydreams, fantasies. We have worked out many of my mental issues through our discussions about my dreams, daydreams/fantasies. again only you and your own treatment providers can answer what your T would say about your dreams, daydreams/ fantasies. |

It would purely be for shock value. I’m not into people with high EQs

But you can actually bring it up to her that you like to say outrageous things for shock value. It would be a good conversation and something to work on: your need for attention even if negative |

What is the therapeutic value of saying things only to shock your therapist? Seems like a waste of time and a 'distraction' from the more pressing issues you are currently dealing with.

There is no such thing as “therapeutic value” no matter what I say so why not entertain myself. I think all NH therapists have said “let’s try to get clients invested so we can fk them in the *** with a knife”

You need to remember that this a forum where many people have experienced sexual violence. Show some respect and consideration.

You don't have to go, but that was some pretty violent imagery. Maybe dial it back a notch.
