another meeting today at work about our upcoming change that's happening on June 1. Well, this is the first part of a larger change. We don't yet know when the 2nd part will be happening. It's going to be... interesting, I'll say that!

I'm enjoying (in a weird way) channeling Poe lately. Today my poem for the challenge used a line from The Raven as my first line, and I played with the pattern he used and changed it up a little for mine. I say "in a weird way" because his stuff can be dark... the first 2 poems of his I borrowed from were very dark... I tapped into my shadow to write my poems and am kinda proud of them. I think I understand finally what L was always on about, the getting to know my shadow thing. 'Tis a handy bugger of a creative partner.

Yes but can we be certain someone hasn't tampered with it?

When I was getting my undergraduate, we heard tales from a professor about a CS grad student who had some sort of mental breakdown and had his apartment windows covered in foil. Funny because it's so cliche, but sad because that's a person.

Oh, that sounds interesting! I like Poe. In middle school, we had an English teacher whose last name was a cow breed, which is something she embraced. We had a Poe unit, and we each wrote parodies of Poe stories or poems with a "cow" in them. So I did "Cow's Bell Lee" instead of Annabel Lee. Like "It was many and many a year ago in a pasture by the sea..." I know someone did "The Cow" instead of "The Raven." She was a lot of fun.

That was and perhaps still is a television plot device.

In talking with Dr. T about the move today (now scheduled for last Friday in June), he said I'm probably the client who, overall, has spent the most time in his office, based on how long I've been seeing him and the frequency with which I attend (even taking the Covid virtual stretch into account). Which made me feel kind of special. He said it makes sense I'd be so affected by it.

We also talked about something interesting--of course, we all know I have anxious attachment to people, but he said maybe that applies to places and objects, too. It came up in part from my talking about struggles to get rid of things in my house as we're moving things around (shifting rooms) post mold remediation. But it made a lot of sense. Like, I feel I need to keep an object or be able to go to a space to hold onto the feeling from it. Where if I were securely attached, I could just go with my memories. He suggested taking photos of some objects and that he saw somewhere about people make those photos into a book on Shutterfly or whatever people use now. So you still have a tangible item to look at, but much smaller than keeping a bunch of things. I liked that idea.

I feel like this move (well, I guess both Dr. T's and what's going on at my house), while painful, is leading to lots of good therapy work and insights.

You need a Faraday cage to block electromagnetic waves. Tin foil doesn’t help in that regard.

Hopefully the best woo woo one money can buy who can inform SD about their current dynamic being due to a mix of energies. With Jupiter transitioning into Gemini and all of that.

Aluminum foil does not completely block RFID signals, it just inhibits them. It makes it a lot harder for the signal to travel, but doesn't block it completely
But we just use the bags from amazon

The only thing more useless than a regular therapist is a couples therapist.

Work has sure been keeping H busy lately! They just gave him 3 jobs - 2 to Phoenix and one to Vegas. I don't go back to work until Tuesday so I could have gone with him, but I really have no desire to go to Vegas so... I opted for a quite evening/night at home alone. Well, me and Penny and my poetry.

Objects and spaces might symbolize stability, safety, and emotional connections. By clinging you may just be attempting to maintain a sense of control and continuity amidst life’s changes. They also bring you comfort, so makes sense why change would be hard.

Just an idea but also trying to work on cultivating a more integrated sense of self, could also help not just the attachment work alone. Both address aspects of identity. The integrated self would be more about achieving a clearer and balanced internal self , whereas attachment is more about understanding and improving the dynamics of interpersonal relationships based on early attachment experiences.

I had Janina Fisher recommended to me, but I never bought the book.
