I'm feeling with all you guys in the US who are having issues right now because of things...

Luckily, I currently have a rather good time myself. Most of my kids love physics and seem to enjoy working and experimenting. Only issue is with one class, they have behavioral issues including bullying. It mainly saddened me because there was no indication in my classroom and I wasn't informed at the time, so I might have joined kids from opposing groups in pairs of two or whatever...

Couch Workout Club day 96

Went for a walk this morning.

Got big news at a work meeting beforehand, and I'm going to have to hold it from other team members, because it hasn't been decided how this will be shared.

Wish I could ask the universe to stop putting things on my plate.

Hugs, Lost and anyone else who needs/wants.

Found out my primary care doc is closing his office soon. Boo. I just went through my insurance website and found one a little closer to my house anyway, called them and scheduled an initial appointment to establish care. Now I need to call the other dr office and find out how to have my records transferred over there.

H is gone for 8 days, left on Wednesday he and his local buddy drove to northern Nevada to meet their California friends for golf and gambling and stuff. I may have already mentioned that I don't remember. They went in on renting a big house for all of them, h said it's beautiful and they are having fun. I am enjoying the quiet house!

In other news, the new med from weight loss doc (bupropion xl) seems to have started doing its job already. I got it on Monday evening (sooner than originally predicted, happily) and started taking it Tuesday morning. So today is day 4. Yesterday I started feeling more energetic, and went for 2 walks! I am feeling pretty good today too. And optimistic about losing weight, as since I started the metformin whenever that was a couple weeks ago or something, I haven't been eating as much. Been happy with 3 meals a day no constant eating throughout the day. This is very good.

Said optimism is fragile though if I think too much about the current situation in the US.

Things I never thought to ask Dr. T about but now know: What sort of toilet seat he prefers (the kind with the slow-closing lid). Came up today because H opted to go buy new toilet seats for our three toilets yesterday, on his birthday. H has odd ways of celebrating...

You can say that again, LT!

Hope you did some more birthdayish things.

Would you say it's understandable to spell somebody's name slightly incorrectly if you have only heard it on the phone?

Well, he and I went out last weekend for it, so I guess that counts! Not so much yesterday.

I think that's completely understandable. Especially as many names have alternate spellings (my daughter's does, for example, though we use the most common one).

Like LT said, even if you hear it correctly, you might still spell it wrong because of unique spellings. My name is also like that. And often times when they read my name the way it's spelled, they call me by the wrong name... It happens, and I personally don't get upset. I actually praise the people who do get it right.

Thank you both for the reassurance.

I emailed the person I spoke to yesterday to offer an update on things.

Yesterday's call wasn't much of a conversation, because Soluble Lost was present from very early on.

I apologised for that, but N said she was glad I felt comfortable to 'make it worse' (quoting me) for a while.

The only problem with the slow-closing toilet seats is that husbands forget that the hotel doesn't have it and just let the seat and lid drop like they do at home, except it goes bang and wakes their wives up.

Thanks LT. I haven't felt this much like myself in a long time! I'm actually feeling pretty happy this evening. It's been a very relaxing 2.5 days so far.

Yes, that is true. I have to remind myself that I've been alive through what, 12 presidents now, some who served 2 terms? Something like that. Kennedy was still president the year I was born. Somehow the world keeps on turning despite the changes. I suppose it will continue to do.

I think I just broke up with bicycle guy.
My girlfriends have been warning me “red flags! flaming red!!!” for over a year. Knowing that doesn’t make the “I need to fix it right now!” part of me feel any better.
Plus I feel stupid for ignoring the control and criticism and etc. You’d think I’d have known better. Apparently nope.

So sorry to hear, WFS.

I hope you can be gentle with yourself today.

Oh, I'm so sorry, WFS. It's easy to ignore things like that when you're in it, to think they're not so bad or will get better. Try not to beat yourself up over it too much. You did eventually get there and decided to end things with him.

I imagine you are also grieving it not working out the hope you had at the beginning. Take care of yourself.

I am sorry to hear this. It's good that you have caring friends around you who will look out for you. It's not stupid to not know better, it's our human nature.

Couch Workout Club day 97

Returned to work today, so I did a 10 minute workout in my self-care app.

WFS - good to know when to get out. I think it could be - you had some fun with the guy and then moved on when engaging with him quit serving its purpose for you. That one might could have moved on faster is not worth dwelling on in my opinion.
