It's good to have a trusted circle of friends who can be your reality check and remind you of your own worth. Trusting yourself and your instincts will take time to rebuild. Keep leaning on the friends; they seem like a great group who can be an anchor for you when things feel uncertain. Remember, the urge to smooth things over or backtrack is normal, but it doesn’t mean you’re making a mistake by sticking to your values. I would also suggest writing letters/ messages to him that you don't send. Try to take it day by day and moment by moment. You can and you will get through this. __________________ |

Do you have spotify premium? I would create a new playlist so you don't get triggered expectantly. __________________ |

Thanks, Cake.
I don't have Spotify Premium, although the adverts drive me to distraction. I have a strange relationship with that song, because I enjoy it and it brings things up. Hope you are having a decent day, Lost __________________ 'Somewhere up above the great divide Where the sky is wide, and the clouds are few A man can see his way clear to the light 'You have all the grace you need for today, and today is all that matters.' - Steve Austin |

Congratulations, Artley!
I'm tentatively planning to retire in about 3 years, at 65. |

Hi Couch,
Lost my flow with the Couch Workout Club, but I got my steps in today. Hope today is treating you well. Oh, that sucks, I'm sorry. I hope he recovers soon and you can avoid catching it. If it's still warm enough there, open windows. Try to both mask if you're in common areas. And sleep separately. That worked when I had it last year (kept D and H from getting it). Could Paxlovid be an option for him? |

I talked to dr's office this morning and asked, hopefully they decide it is and call in an Rx. Unfortunately, I didn't know he was so sick last night - he got home at like midnight - so I was next to him in bed all night. But, until he's better I'm camping out on the couch. That kept me from getting it last time. I just went and curbside pickup'd some gatorade for him while I'm on lunch. I'm assuming this is why he was feeling so miserable the other day, he was probably already coming down with it. I dunno. |

I was lucky enough to be able to retire in January, and I just can’t believe how quickly the time has gone. I don’t miss the work, but I do miss the people - even though I still see them reasonably regularly as most of them were friends as well as colleagues. The one thing that did surprise me is that I’ve still had to work hard to sustain good mental health. More time on my hands has sometimes turned into more time to focus on negative thought patterns - especially around health anxiety and getting older. That said, i don’t regret the decision. __________________ Jeff |

Flipper continues to amaze me with his huge arsenal of skill related things. I started to dissociate today and he was able to just pull out a box of different sensory related skills. Though I went for the very first one, squeezing a spiky ball. He's also gentle about his approach for the most part, and especially willing to learn.

That's brilliant, CNS!
I'm glad that Flipper can support you so well in that specific aspect. __________________ 'Somewhere up above the great divide Where the sky is wide, and the clouds are few A man can see his way clear to the light 'You have all the grace you need for today, and today is all that matters.' - Steve Austin |

Just checked in with the dr's office, they don't want to prescribe the paxlovid because he also takes xarelto, and there's a major interaction between them. They don't want to prescribe anything actually because he said he was already starting to feel better today, mostly is just extremely tired. told us to treat it like a bad cold with otc stuff and stay hydrated.

Things I have put in motion now that bicycle guy will not grump at me...
Sing in community choir with one of my besties Game night at my best bestie's on Thursdays And...get a dog! I am driving to the next state north to meet a sweet young dog next weekend. He looks like a blond version of the Very Best Dog who died in 2020. __________________ Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by accidents of time, or place, or circumstance, are brought into closer connection with you. So glad that bicycle guy cannot grump at you, WFS.
Singing sounds especially good. I hope the meeting with the dog goes well. __________________ 'Somewhere up above the great divide Where the sky is wide, and the clouds are few A man can see his way clear to the light 'You have all the grace you need for today, and today is all that matters.' - Steve Austin |
