She had to cancel yesterday for personal reasons. So she rescheduled for this morning. She just seemed off and kind of moody and not real involved in the session. I felt like I was being annoying or something.
I emailed her an hour after the session and I asked if everything was ok or if it was me because she seemed distracted today. She replied back with a short "I'm ok. Thanks! Have a good day." I'm guessing she was just preoccupied with her personal issue. But this isnt like her and its kinda taken me off guard. |

Yes I have had that happen to me. Just as much as they know you and your patterns you also know your t when something is off. It sucks that you have to wonder what's wrong or even think it's you. In general I mean.

Yeah, the therapist is going to have off days too, and it must be quite hard for them to find the right words to express that accurately (and positively) to clients/people without showing strain in some way. Everyone's looking at their face for the faintest sign of disapproval!
She'll be fine. Hope you're doing okay there Mountaindewed.👍 __________________ "A flower falls, even though we love it; and a weed grows, even though we do not love it."- Dōgen

Something similar has happened to me, and my therapist was rather dismissive of my asking whether everything was OK. I know he doesn't want to make the focus on him, which I imagine is the case with your T. But it's still difficult when they act like everything is fine, but it doesn't seem to be. It feels invalidating.
