Aw, thanks una- I'm pretty fond of them too. They are good eggs. They keep hugging me and saying "If you want to talk..." and helping to carry boxes.

WFS—bicycle guy thought you were too invested in family and friends?

Glad you left.

In other news, I slapped a picture of raw animal testicles on a lecture slide, because that’s what ancient athletes ate to get a hormone boost. We’ll see how the kids react.

Have you seen the ad for ARMRA colostrum? Gym boys talking about their hair and skin. They do look like young veal.

I did really like the name because of the movie though, made me feel of a kind of hyperactive dolphine, which seems like a good description for that T too (I tried to choose a name that makes me feel something and I did indeed think of the movie, even though I have never actually seen it!).
Thanks for answering. Glad you could choose a name that resonates with you.

You should try the fruits of the sea chocolate pralines.

I went through a Tony Chocolooney phase with their pretzel bars.

I have been sticking with Lidl own brand. I like cheap chocolate, but haven’t bought those bars since before October.

The great grandson of the Cadbury family started his own chocolate company. I’ve bought as gifts but not tried it myself. LoveCocoa.

My winter holiday tradition is a box of chocolate covered cherries, cuz thats what my dad would buy and share with us. They still taste the same. When he was a young teenager, my brother would buy a can of cinnamon rolls from the corner store and make them for a holiday breakfast and was that a sugar rush, plus completely unusual.

Do the chocolate covered cherries really still taste the same? My dad would buy a box when we were kids and keep them in the fridge. I remember going into the fridge as a young kid and shoving them in my mouth whole which caused coughing from the cherry but they were so good. I find a lot of things now as an adult just don’t taste the same anymore but if those do I may buy a box and obviously just eat them slower.

I have to go to a bridal/baby shower today. I hate to sound so negative but I really hate these functions. My sister is getting married (again) next month and she had a baby 3 months ago so it’s kind of like a luncheon to celebrate her new union and the arrival of her child. I had no plans on throwing anything-the other girls in the wedding suggested some sort of gathering so as matron of honor and godmother of the newish baby I played along. And now the day is here and I don’t want to be bothered with it or maybe I just don’t want to “people” and also spend unnecessary money during the holiday season.

So sorry you have to deal with this, Jersey.

Is there any chance you can decompress afterwards?

Jersey - well its hard to find ones with a creamy filling, but there is a syrupy filling kind that is less expensive but somehow more fun. The packaging is different and there are much fewer in a box, but yes the cherries will still shock you. Youre so funny, i didnt realize they DO kinda choke you until you said that!

My mother' favorite candy bar was Chunky. I think they disappeared for a while but they might be back.

I hear you on the wedding stuff. My brother's third wedding had to be repeated a week later because the license had expired. I was like, you are not wasting ANOTHER of my Saturdays! He was like, he HAVE to be there! I was like, yeah... no.

I'm not really a fan of those either. Didn't really want to have them for my own wedding, then baby, but I gave in. I just insisted that I be alerted to the date in advance--I didn't want a surprise (as an introvert, I do better being able to prepare for social situations, especially one where I'd be the center of attention).

I was informed about the family and friends baby showers (thanks, H!). I figured out the bridal shower because my best friend at the time was in town and being weird about some plans we'd made to go somewhere (out to lunch maybe?). Like, "Actually, let's not do that. Let's just go to [our friend] L's house instead." I was right. I did insist that we not play any stupid games.

Hope the event is bearable and goes well. You're being a good sibling organizing it. At least all the focus should be on your sister.

It was city hall. If i know my brother, he "forgot" to bring it to a scheduling appointment if there was one, and he just could not believe being one day over was a problem! You wouldnt believe what he did at his 2nd wedding! The priest yelled at ME because he believed i was in on the scam! At my cousins wedding a few years after mine in that same church but a different priest, that same priest made cracks about women libbers (ie me).

Theres a reason i became a hermit!

Yes, Frequent "I want a partner, not a family" and increasing upset when I wanted to spend any time with them.

My family and friends are almost universally relieved I am home.

Things I did yesterday...
Packed all the the things from the hill garden and brought them home
Saw Hadestown with the theater barbarian

Things I did today...
Unpacked all my books
Plane tickets for the grownest barbarian and I to go see the dancer one dance in February
Goodwill run to get rid of stuff I can't fit in the cute little house
Groceries because I can't survive on barbarian foods (cheese nips, ice cream, and cereal)
Decided to live my best most joyful life

Thanks guys. Lost, thank you. I did decompress when I got home and stayed in the quiet for a little while with no TV on or anything.

Una.. Chunky bars are back. I saw them in the local convenience store. I told my sister I would not participate in or attend a third wedding so I hope this second one is it. She said she wouldn’t ever get married a third time of this was to not work out.

LT-. I didn’t have a bridal shower or any sort of bachelorette party. I was adamant about not having anything and people complied with that request. At least you knew about yours. Being mentally prepared does make it easier.

I have been obsessed with the song "all i've ever known". Hope you enjoyed the show.

It sounds like you had a productive day!

The grocery haul is a big win for ensuring you're eating well. Most importantly, it's inspiring that you've decided to embrace living your best, most joyful life. You’re making moves for happiness and comfort, and that’s inspiring.
