These frame issues are endless...

Has anyone ever had their T change their session fee in the midst of treatment? Is that fee change passed on to you? Or does your fee remain the same as when you started?

My T has changed his fee since I started, but I remain with him at the old rate. I wondered if this is how it usually works--you keep at the rate you signed up for. I think he has told me twice in session that his therapy fee is now higher, but he never asks me to pay more. I have wondered if he was hinting I should pay more, but my insurance doesn't cover this, so it's already high for me. If he wants me to pay more, he is going to have to be a lot more direct about asking/telling me. When your T changes his fee

I guess what made me think of this was that recently, my career counselor increased her rate, and I pay this now, even though in our original contract, the lower rate was specified. So she handled this differently than my T.

I only know what she charges me. She lowered that when I wanted to come more often.

I did wonder at the first of the year if it might increase but she's never mentioned it.

I saw my T for 9 years and paid out-of-pocket for back-to-back sessions each week and about year 7 or 8 she upped her fees something like $5 an hour simply explaining that her overhead prices had gone up, cost of living, etc. I wasn't bothered as I was paying a lot anyway, what's another $10 a week? It actually made it an even amount that I liked better than the old amount. When your T changes his fee

my T is an independant consultant inside a firm with about 6 other
T's......I pay her cash so she gives me a special rate........The problem is the Insurance companies take so long to pay, they increase their fees just to cover the cash flow difference

My T went from $120 to $150 according to my insurance plan but my copay didn't change. It was baffling to me actually because I didn't see an increase on what my plans pays him or me.

He never said anything to me directly.
