Waaah. After nursing my sick 5 year old all week, I'm so sick now! I have a fever and feel achy all over and have a cough. I don't think it's the flu, because when I took my son to the doctor, she said flu was pretty much over in this area. I HATE to miss T tomorrow. I have a lot of issues that come up when I am sick and when my 5 year old is sick (he almost died when he was 15 months old and when he's sick it just freaks me out). And here we are, BOTH sick. I feel like I have a lot to process. But, I would hate to make T sick! I e-mailed him and he said if I feel up to it, I could come in, and if not, we'll reschedule. The thing is, I don't know if I can reschedule anytime this week before my Friday appt. AND my 7 y/o is having gum surgery first thing in the morning, and I really want to be able to take him, even though dh could do it. What to do? Please help. Do you go to T when you're sick??? |

No I wouldn't. I would not want to make T sick.. might cause a future session to have to be cancelled.
![]() And i wouldn't want T to come in sick and then I catch it. What about a phone session? Everyone wins ![]() |

Oh I hope you feel better.
I do not goto T when sick like you are. Fever, cough, chills...could be the flu, even though your doc said no. If you have a fever, you have something that is infectious and in general.... you should wait 24-48 hours after fever is broken to go out so you are no longer infectious. (PS: According to epidemiologists the flu epidemic is not over) Maybe you can have a phone session? And then see if you can reschedule. I know it stinks, but imagine if you got your T sick....... ![]() ![]() |

I've gone in sick but later I've found my T had health problems of her own so she could get ill/die if she got sick. She had to go out of town for months at a time in the winter, apparently had some illness like your 5 year old only it weakened her to the extent that she couldn't get sick like that again so had to avoid illness if she could; but she was in her late-60's/early-70's.
If you're not coughing, etc. and feel better "up" than you would resting, I'd maybe go in. If you're really tired and achey though, I'd get another hour's sleep or something.

Yay! I feel better this morning. My fever broke last night, and even though I'm still coughing I don't feel achy and all of that anymore.
I had e-mailed T yesterday to ask if I should come when I'm sick and he told me if I feel up for it, to come, not to worry about him. But I really didn't want to go with a fever, and was going to cancel if I was still feverish today. Now I get to go - yay ![]() My poor 5 y/o is still sick - this is this SIXTH day of fever. I'm worried about the little guy. I took him to Urgent Care on Friday and they said if he still has a fever on Tuesday (tomorrow) to bring him back in. Thanks for the words of advice everyone! |
