So, say you go to therapy on your lunch break, and start crying your eyes out, but you have to go back to work.
How do you hide the puffy red eyes and mascara stains?! I wish I could get 5:00 appointments but my T won't do that... |

I tend not to wear any eye make-up on days I am expecting a cry session in therapy. Can't always predict, though. Overall it's safer for me just to leave off the mascara on therapy days.

Although my Th times are after work, in the evenings, I have days when I'm on the edge (or over) of tears all day and spend some time letting them flow a bit in the restroom. On days that start out that way from the get-go, I just curl my eyelashes and skip the mascara. You could also make a little kit to carry with you on therapy days, with mascara remover wipes, mascara to reapply, Visine or something similar to soothe your eyes. And add something special, like your favorite "flavor" (scent) of hand lotion. |

Haven't had this problem but I've thought about it. Waterproof would work .

Well, and not just the mascara (which I actually thought WAS waterproof...but maybe I got the wrong one). But just the fact that I have a weekly appointment at the same time every week and I come back to work looking like someone just died. Everyone is going to know what's going on. I just hate that they all know I'm messed up. I know it shouldn't bother me but it does.

At work they're all thinking about whatever project they haven't finished and who's going to get upset at them and how much stress they're under, etc. People are too distracted to be that observant. Just go with the waterproof stuff and maybe comment about having bad allergies occasionally. Sidony (hoping to be cheerful) |
