Hello Everyone,

I'm new here and wanted to say hello. My T went on vacation for 2 weeks. It has only been 5 days and I'm miserable. I have been seeing her for a year but only recently felt connected. When she took a vacation a couple months ago I didn't care at all. The only way I can describe how I'm feeling is "home sick". I feel home sick. Really weird.

I kind of know how you feel. I talked with my T today and found out I don't have therapy tomorrow like I expected to. I kind of feel like a lost puppy now. I am looking forward to next week. My T has family coming in for the holiday so is taking tomorrow off so she can spend time with her family.

Keep posting here. The people on this thread have been very supportive when others are feeling down about their T being on vacation. You can vent and let your feelings of home sickness out so they don't pile up in your head. Seems to help me sometimes.

emilyjeanne, welcome to PC! Took 1 year to connect with your therapist? Now miserable because she's on vacation? You are gonna fit right in here. I am sorry you are feeling down and homesick. When she comes back, it will be like a homecoming when you first see her. Take care.

Welcome to PC! It's so hard when our therapist's are on vacation. This board is a great place to come for support....I know I've been carried through a few T vacations by the posters here... Therapist on Vacation

Last time my T was on vacation, I tried journaling every day about how I was feeling, as if I was talking to him. Surprisingly, it helped a little.

Be gentle with yourself. And remember that every day - every hour - that goes by brings you a little closer to being reunited with T.

Welcome to PC. Hopefully we can help support you while your T is on vacation. I know how hard that can be.

Thanks everyone for the support. It helps to read the other posts. I only have 11 days left.
