So I was chatting with my good friend girllazy and we were thinking it would be way cool to find a therapist with super powers- you know, no human limitations! lol!
Obviously this is mostly just for fun and a chance to fantasize! lol! But my question is, what super powers would you give your T?? __________________ Soon I'll grow up and I won't even flinch at your name ~Alanis Morissette |

I would like mine to be able to do that "Ghost of Christmas Past" thing. He'd take my hand and we'd go back in time and look at my childhood together. I think that would really help my therapy a lot. It would explain to him why I'm such a whack job.

Ok lets see? I would like mine to say here is your past and there it is no more. No more pain no more discouragement of those who were supposed to be there for you but were not and those who did you terribly wrong no longer exist. You now have loving parents siblings and you live happily ever after. LOL!!!!! Ok maybe I'm stretching a bit but it was nice to think for a moment. Thanks for the Super T with Super Powers topic. Needed that.

Oh Emm, I am in tears, I have always wanted a witness to what life was like. Just someone to see because I know nothing can be changed. Oh boy, I feel like as much as possible I have taken my T back with me. This is a very large issue with me. So I love this superpower. Can we make Ts like this?

I've told her before that she needs to learn to clone herself and teleport. She thought that would be handy too.
But since we can have anything, may as well throw in telepathy and time-travel while we're at it, eh? __________________ “We should always pray for help, but we should always listen for inspiration and impression to proceed in ways different from those we may have thought of.” – John H. Groberg |

Criminy sweetie....didn't wanna make ya cry! I wanna go back cuz my childhood is mostly a big blank nothing. He and I could poke around with a big flash light and shine it in all the dark places.
Oh, and ANOTHER super power! He could get my insurance company to give me more than 20 friggin visits annually! It surely takes super powers to battle it out with an insurance company!!! emmy |

Yes, I'm lucky to have insurance at all....tho I pay a LOT LOT LOT of money each month for it. And they don't exactly GIVE me those appointments....the last 15 of 20 appointments are $45 copays. But, yes I am lucky just to have insurance, and to have a T I really like, even without super powers!

Mine would have no time barriers.. enough time to spend with me and their family. Mine would also have no stupid LPC rules.. only her own superT rules that she makes special for each client.. and she would invite me to her house for sunday dinner . My T would also have this vision that would shine a warm light into my soul exposing all the darkness and hurting and warming it with her love....and yup ..we'd do that each session until it was all gone.

Mine would also be able to wave that magic wand and make all my pain go away. He would make me whole and heal my mental wounds. He would also make my past into what I had fantasized it had been like until I remembered the reality of my life. He would give me the power to be happy and to cry when I am sad. He would get me off all the pills I have to take every day just to function and survive. What else...

Cool thread!!! My T would be able to clone herself, too, so that one of them could always be with me, especially when I need to confront people and stand up for myself. (She'd be invisible and whisper what I should say in my ear... hehe...)
I may be totally behind everyone here, but i wanted to make sure people knew about parity law in California and I think 38 other states. Until recently I also thought I was only covered for 20 annual visits, and now I found out that under parity they have to cover me regardless of the number of visits. My insurance company does not advertise this, btw, I had to inquire about it after my T told me. This only works if you fall under 9 major categories like depression, bipolar, etc. I could get additional info if anyone needs it. |

I would let my t inside my head. Then he could know exactally what I feel, see what has all happened. Then while he was in there, erase it and turn the pain into happy things. Take out the bad and leave the good I say. Justy __________________ "Through the rain lives a rainbow...you just need to find it." |

Yeah i would let my t in my head too. Shrink him down so small he could crawl right in with mini scuba gear or something. Id want him to erase all the negative stuff thats left in my head. History, personality flaws all those things. Im imagining like a big pencil eraser and when hes done and sized back up he could grab me one of those eraser crumbs that always fall off when you try erasing stuff. I could then have my own lil momento, kind of like one of those "...and all i got was this lousy tshirt" kind of things.

Ahhh, but Shay, we would not want your t to re-write you. Cause your funny, kind, caring, compassionate...the Shay that we all love!! But I say ditto to erasing the crap part; lolol. Just leave Shay and Justy as they are... __________________ "Through the rain lives a rainbow...you just need to find it." |

Lauren - That's a really good point to bring up regarding the Parity Laws. If anyone is interested in learning more about Parity, this is a well written document, imho, by the National Mental Health Association. It requires Adobe Acrobat since it's a PDF file. It's 32 pages long, but you can just pick out the parts you are interested in from the Table of Contents.

I would want my T to be every where at the same time. He needs to have one of those thing Hermonie has in Prisoner of Azkaban where she can go back in time and then poof be right back where she started at a certain time that way he could go on vacation with his family, go to training or whatever and still have time for me. No I'm not really that needy. I also would like him to be able to see what I'm not saying.

tks Em, for that link. When I was in the ER last week, they gave me a paper on discharge that said my disorder allowed for home help... my T couldn't understand what that could be... this might help me show the attorney that I need assistance both from physical and psychological disabilities! Tks. ok... now back to topic. __________________ |

Here's my list...
-Time travel, so I could go back and give the younger me the love & encouragement I needed, and also so I could do the same for my mom; And so I & my T could see all that my mom went through and also what I went through as children -To clone herself for me--I like Lauren's idea of having your T be invisible & whispering encouraging things to you -The ability to heal/eradicate my mom's mental illness -The ability to bottle her inner strength and give it to me -To somehow help me win the lottery so I can pay for therapy more easily and also help others with that |
