Sometimes I struggle during therapy breaks with connection. One thing I have done is make a list of all the nice things my T has said to me along the way. We email, so when she says something in an email that I find really nice or caring or whatever, I just copy it into a list. And then, when I'm struggling, I can just look at the list and see all the nice things she's said over time, and it just makes me feel better and more confident about the connection.
Has anyone else tried anything like this? I find it really helps me. |

I do this.
I had a supervisor give me a card once with really great things in it. I carry it with me in my work bag, I actually always have it with me. At times, when I am very overwhelmed by my emotions I read it. I do like having it with me.

Yes, I did this at one point....wrote down all of the nice things T had said/done so when I started to doubt our connection, I could refer to the list.
He went through a little phase where he would write me little notes on post it notes to take home..I put them all in a little journal that I carry in my purse and it helps sometimes. He's on vacation right now. I'm lonely for him. I should go look at that stuff. ![]() |
