It turns out that in California, even though the Medicare policy is that there is no restriction to the # of appts. ea. week, they will only pay for one appt.
I got an idea and called another T I know in town, who takes Medicare (not my T, just know of her)
She said they used to pay, but at some point Medicare just stopped paying. They said they would pay if the therapist claimed it was medically nessescary, so she tried to claim that and battled with them about it, but they still would not pay. She just had to give up and only see her M patients once a week.
So, I didnt' even bring it up in my appt. I am so glad I called that other T. It's a huge bummer that they won't pay, but at least I didn't have to waste any of the time during the one appointment Mediare does pay for discussing this issue.
She said it'll probably happen in other states eventually as well.
I think it sucks!!!!!

Lbien...I'm glad you found your answer and that you can trust T.

I'm sorry Medicare will only reimburse for one session a week. I'm really glad you found out, though, because now you know your T was being honest with you.
