All of my crazy medical issues took a surprise bad turn today, so I am off for MORE TESTS on TUESDAY which is the soonest I could get in.

I called T and told him what is going on...and told him to call me back with some helpful CBT ideas. He called and just said that I'm just normal - it's normal to be scared and worried about something so important. He said not to fight it - just to acknowledge "this is scaring me" and work on distracting myself. Kind of let the thought pass through without hooking onto it. I asked if he could make time pass faster and he said "No". He said he's not magic!! What?!?!?! This is the first I'd heard of THAT!

Blah. BLAH! I'm not even OLD. This is crazy.

Anyhow, I am going to "distract myself" by watching a movie with my two littlest boys, but I will be back on later to read threads and dole out hugs

Oy.

Isn't it great when Ts say something so basic like ..."its normal to be scared." You think to yourself "NOSHIT, I know that!" Then realize later, that some part of you needed to hear those simple words. I hope your tests go well, but more importantly for tonight...I hope you were able to cuddle up on the couch with your lttle ones and enjoyed your movie night.

(((earthamama)))

Maybe you can listen to some guided imagery to calm you. Yes, you are normal--wow, isn't that wonderful? I am sorry you have to endure the godawful medical system. You must be very frightened, but fear not because we are all here with you! You are NOT alone.

(((((((((((((((((everyone)))))))))))))))))))) Thanks

The movie with the little guys was the perfect distraction. One day down!

It actually DID help when T said that what I was feeling was normal. I was like, OH! okay, then! Like I don't have to fight the fear so much. I'm just letting it float by (over and over again!) like he said. I guess it turns out I'm lucky this is such a crazy busy month, because I have PLENTY to distract me. It's funny how things turn out.

I'm so glad I have PC. I need lots and lots and lots of hugs, and this is a good place to get them

Thanks, guys

Thank goodness for your busyness this month and for your children. Did I just type that?

Do you have a few more movies?

Right this minute, as I type, I am listening to my relaxation CD. For reasons I won't go into at this moment I need to listen to this. Sometimes I let it play all night long.

Bye,
Ice
