No-not my T's head.

I just got off the phone with T. I had a short phone session that I requested. I have been working through a pretty big depression crash and he is helping me manage the emotional fallout from increasing meds as I ramp up and the depressive intrusive thoughts. I love this guy--

But, the point of this thread is that although I am so grateful to him for the session on the phone, I wish I could have seen him in person for a real face-to-face session. Now, I know this doesn't sound like a big deal but it's a big deal for me. For the past two years it has been easier for me to speak to T on the phone than it is to speak to him in person. I think I have finally crossed the threshold of preferring real contact. Whoa. Does this mean I am growing up? I DON'T WANT TO GROW UP. LOL

... Well, maybe in addition to your T's head.

What a nice thing to realize, that you prefer to talk with T in person!

It's always really cool to realize that how we feel today about something is not how we have felt for weeks or months or years. It's like concrete evidence that we have changed, that we are getting somewhere, that we are making progress.

Congratulations!

WOW thats great - maybe its just that little Miss c wants to see him just as much as Miss C does - not that you're growing up - lets not grow up - lets play for as long and as much as we can

(((((((((((((((((((((Miss C)))))))))))))))))))))))

I'm glad you had the extra session, and I'm glad you feel safe enough to want to connect with him in person. That's so good

This is nice. It gives me hope that at some point I will out grow my need to hide behind my computer.

Thanks everyone.

Chaotic, you WILL grow bold enough to speak your mind face to face. Although T and I were never e-mailers, when I think of all the letters (handwritten, or typed) I have sent him I cringe. Who knows what I said in those? I have also sent him poetry. Now I bring it and read it to him.

But yeah, I still get shy and mute not infrequently. Nothing is an even ride is it?

You can still be six. I think the really significant thing is that you were able to ask for what you need. That's a huge step. Even more huge than his head. And don't worry-- even kids learn how to ask for what they need, but they can still be kids.

u, Miss.

I think it's such a sign of growth that you prefer in-person contact now. But like Pink said, you don't have to get rid of that little girl part of you. You can still feel the good, safe connected feeling with t that is so soothing.
