I've made it through the woods. I can be stirred, but not shaken. (Knock wood) I'm doing very well. Thanks to an unhelpful series of bad therapists, one sincere therapist who taught me the basics of CBT, a loving, loyal husband and good friends, distractions.

I feel like I have looked at myself from all angles, and have come to accept who I am. I simply made up my mind to keep my life as it is, but better it.

It all came down to my own attitude!

I've always been a very independent person. So, it took me being my own therapist. I thought about and read everything. It took two years, and going through a lot of pain.

But healing is miraculous. I feel fine.

I am a survivor.

Midlife crisis, mental health crisis, trauma?--doesn't matter. It is good to be a survivor...
Thanks for this!

I just LOVE reading things like this! So sincerely happy for you!

It IS all about attitude, isn't it? I have been through a lot of therapy, have read just about everything I can get my hands on,have tried this and that, but really what it has boiled down to is my own attitude because without that, everything else means nothing.

I struggle at times, and I assume I most likely will, that's life, but it is getting easier.

Yes,you are a survivor, and it really made my day to read your post.
Thanks for this!

Could it simply be THIS?

"She can kill with a smile
She can wound with her eyes
She can ruin your faith with her casual lies
And she only reveals what she wants you to see
She hides like a child
But she's always a woman to me

She can lead you to love
She can take you or leave you
She can ask for the truth
But she'll never believe
And she'll take what you give her as long as it's free
Yeah, she steals like a thief
But she's always a woman to me

[Chorus:]
Oh, she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She's ahead of her time
Oh, and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind

She will promise you more
Than the Garden of Eden
Then she'll carelessly cut you
And laugh while you're bleedin'
But she'll bring out the best
And the worst you can be
Blame it all on yourself
Cause she's always a woman to me

[Chorus:]
Oh, she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She's ahead of her time
Oh, and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind

She is frequently kind
And she's suddenly cruel
She can do as she pleases
She's nobody's fool
But she can't be convicted
She's earned her degree
And the most she will do
Is throw shadows at you
But she's always a woman to me"

Tisha-
After 4,118 posts, your misunderstand community guidelines posting was an awkward goodbye. This one (Billy Joel's song) is more appropriate. Maybe not everyone has welcomed all your advice but I am certain the majority appreciated it. I was watching a Youtube video yesterday that stated--only strong people cry. They were talking about you (and a few others I know). The song does fit you! You've given some great advice on PC because you are both strong and sweet at the same time. I hope the rest of your life is wonderful....
