I need some help, I work with a very good friend and have been friends for almost 10 years. She has some mental health issues and I have been there for her as best I can. Lately she has made it impossible to work on some days, she is constantly up and stirring the pot to different employees and never completes her work on time. I work for the owners, high stress and high responsibility. She gets away with murder, calls out sick all the time, vacation, talks very loud and gets everyone upset. I need to figure out a way to nicely tell her she is out of control in the work environment (considering her managers wont!!) I hate being in this position, I did go to her before about this and she wasnt too nice, and blew off coming to my wedding. I have since distanced myself as best I could without a big confrontation, I am not confrontational at all... Most of the time things are fine, but there are days I want to run out of here screaming, going to managment DOES NOT DO A THING.... any suggestions???

Honesty, I think it's not your responsibility to tell her anything....Her manager should tell her....
I think you are focusing on her actions too much and it's getting into you....
Just ignore her....her behavior is not your responsibility and if you tell her something, you just make things worse.....just stay away from trouble and concentrate on your job....
I usually don't care what people are doing at work if there are not under my vision....I don't care when they are coming to work if they are calling sick or not....these are not my concern....I have to do my job, that's my responsibility....that's all....
stay cool and away from her, then things will go good
take care

I would tell her that when she is behaving like a child to stay away from me. I wouldn't want to be confrontational either, but I could only take so much. I'm not sure if this helps you, but this is what I would do. You know just recently I meet this girl who has a personality disorder, I had to stop hanging out with her. She has a drinking problem really bad, and she would get very upset with me for trying to help her. One time I gave her a tv, and she got really upset with me because I asked her if she wanted me to help her carry it. She also let me watch one of her movies, and she got upset with me because I said the movie was good, and not great. I was just thinking to myself if your going to get mad at me everytime you see me what the sense of being friends.

I know what you are going through....I had this coworker in my previous job, she was constantly complaining about everybody at work...gossip gossip gossip....if somebody was leaving 5 minutes earlier, she was right at my desk, complaining...one day, I told her, I just don't care, it's not my job to monitor who does what and it's better you get off from their case too and just do your own job....since then she didn't complain to me....I think you should tell her that you like your job and if she doesn't, then she can go and find anther job....or just help her to find something else then it's a win win situation
