I know this is common knowledge. But at times when one is really angry they tend to lash out and say things that need not be said. I can't say I have always held my tongue when angry... I just wanted to say I am not young and I am learning... And things work out so much better when you don't lash out and say things you don't really mean, especially when anger is raging and in control.
Something happened here and I was really mad... I held my tongue and waited until I had calmed down so I could think clearer. And guess what? Is the best thing I have ever done... I said what I had to say, in a normal tone of voice, not letting one ounce of anger show up.. Although I let it know I was angry, I did not vent it towards anyone....... And everything worked out pretty good... smile A lesson well learned... Sure hope I never forget and always wait until the flames have smoldered and the smoke has cleared before I say what I need to say...... |

That's a very good lesson you learned and thank you for sharing this. It's true you can be assertive without hurting feelings, but when we lash out no one wins. It's best to wait a while and take some deep breaths. Great job

Yes a VERY good lesson to learn and use.
![]() ![]() can be hard to have 100% success though..... when we don't, it sure has the tendency to come back and bite us in the "you know what"! ![]() fins |
