Hi. I'm new and at whit's end, so I'm giving this site/board a try. My marriage is about to end. I think I have Schizoid Personality Disorder. I've been married for almost 20 years. I've seen a counsellor in the past and it doesn't seem to help me. I don't know where to turn. I have been treated for depression for @15 years. I love my husband, but I'm not "connected."

I could have sworn that I had already responded to your post... but it sure isn't here, is it?
![]() First off, did an MD or a T tell you you have this disorder? If so, did you receive any meds to help you? Why do you feel therapy hasn't helped? "Thinking" you have a disorder doesn't help. If I were you, I'd get a diagnosis from a Therapist or Psychiatrist, especially if you want to save your marriage, then go from there. Please don't give up. There's a better life out there for you.

Thanks. I have finally gotten an appointment with a therapist on 7/12, the soonest I could get. I would really like to talk to someone this week. My DH has been telling me for years that I have a personality disorder and I guess after doing a bit of research, I feel like I do too. I am currently on Prozac, have been on it or other similar meds for @15 years. I also have CFS & FM. My DH told me if I saw a psychiatrist, he would stick around and help me, but I told him no, his decision was to leave, so just leave. I don't want him being able to hold this over my head.
