Does anyone else's family reject them because they are ill physically more than mentally or emotionally? I would never reject my son or my husband the way my relatives have rejected me.

LostSavant, after being here for awhile, I think about anything certainly is possible and likely has happened. Which, of course, is not to say something as mean-spirited as you describe should happen. Do you know why? Have you talked to any family member about why this is occurring?

lostsavant, i'm really sorry to hear that your family has rejected you for being physically ill. i haven't been rejected per se by my family for my health problems but they sure haven't made it easy on me emotionally. my mom is supporting me financially which i so appreciate, but emotional support just doesn't seem to happen from my family. i have been treated like i'm just faking it or not interested in getting better because i won't continually go to doctor after doctor after being told there is nothing more they can do. i'm currently working on forgiving them for making things so much harder on me during an already difficult time. i probably should have joined some sort of support group for people with my illness. it's been quite challenging being sick. share more if you want about your situation. there are some very supportive people here.
